GRILLED FRENCH FRIES
1 bag of frozen French fries
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. dried dill
2 to 3 tbsp. creamy Italian dressing
1 to 2 tbsp. minced onion
1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese, RESERVE
In large bowl, mix all ingredients (except cheese) and put in a double foil packet, sealing edges tightly. Grill over hot coals for 10 to 15 minutes. Turn packet over and punch holes in foil to vent steam. Grill 10 to 15 minutes more. Open packet carefully because of steam, place French fried in a warmed serving dish and toss with 1/2 cup of grated cheddar cheese.

Steak Fries were originally done on te grill (err.steak cut fries that is).
Cutting a potato into 1/2 inch wedges (steak cut)
drizzle with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and garlic
The key is to have a grill screen ()wal-mart sells them in packs of 3 for $1.00) These are heavy wire screens commonly used to grill delicate fish. Lay potato wedges out onto screen and place over white hot coals. Using tongs to turn every so often. if using gas grill, just have on low-medium setting. This will give you a great grilled taste as well. You can also use fish baskets. Which is a screen box that allows you to turn food item over and back easily. Hope this helps.

Others have it about right..
Cut your potatos up into frie size pieces then place then in a sheet of tinfoil.
But a couple chunks of butter in there and salt and pepper.
Then wrap up the foil and put it on the grill!

Why bother. I have a deep fryer and an outside covered plug. works for me.....
I also have that extra burner on my 'Weber' gas grill, where i can heat the oil and throw in the fries.
Have done both. Both works!
Fries need hot oil to crisp, I do micro them first the get them medium, so they do not take so long outside.
hope this helps.
If you wrap them in foil, they will be limp and not crisp.

i wouldn't think you could. maybe if you put it in several layers of tin foil and a lil layer of oil so they don't stick... would be more of a task than not i think
