Only if you want to have protection against an accident. Where can you drive without insurance in case of an accident. Does the insurance co. say, "Oh, gee, that first 30 days was a present, now we'll pay for your accident. Think. The moment you drive that car out of the lot, you better make that call unless the car you had before was insured. Then you have time to call within 30 days. Otherwise, call.

Any time you drive a car, you need to have or be on an insurance policy. If you are on your parents policy, fine. If the car is in your name. it needs to be insured and you must be at least 18. There is NO grace period.

Okay, let's make it simple. You have no insurance for 30 days. You have an accident that is your fault, and you end up injured, to boot, on the 16th day. WHO DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO PAY FOR IT? THE PERSON WHO TOLD YOU THAT YOU DON'T NEED INSURANCE?

Yes, you have to have insurance to drive. You don't want to get in an accident and find out didn't have coverage and you were driving without insurance.

If you are driving a car, you need it for the first second onward. If you don't drive, you don't need insurance.

A comparison quote site is the best bet so that you can see for yourself how much things can cost or how much you can save.
