Interestingly, Jesus rebuked a man who addressed him w/ the title "Good Teacher," bc Jesus recognized not himself but his Father to be the standard of goodness.(Mr10:17,18)
However, to measure up to what ppl generally mean when they say that some1 is good, Jesus surely must have been truthful. Indeed, even his enemies acknowledged that he was.---(Mrk12:14)
He himself said that he had a prehuman existence
that he was the unique Son of God,
that he was the Messiah,
the 1 coming was foretold throughout the Hebrew Scriptures.
Either he was what he said or he was a gross impostor,
but neither option allows for the view that he was simply a good man.--John 3:13; 10:36; 4:25,26; Luke 24:44-48.

Lu 24:44-48 He now said to them: "These are my words which I spoke to YOU while I was yet with YOU, that all the things written in the law of Moses and in the Prophets and Psalms about me must be fulfilled." Then he opened up their minds fully to grasp the meaning of the Scriptures, and he said to them: "In this way it is written that the Christ would suffer and rise from among the dead on the third day, and on the basis of his name repentance for forgivness of sins would be preached in all the nations---starting out from Jerusalem, YOU are to be witnessess of these things.

While Jesus is often called the Son of God in the Bible, nobody in the first century ever thought of him as being God the Son. Even the demons, who "believe there is one God," knew from their experience in the spirit realm that Jesus was not God. So, correctly, they addressed Jesus as the separate "Son of God." (James 2:19; Matthew 8:29) And when Jesus died, the pagan Roman soldiers standing by knew enough to say that what they had heard from his followers must be right, not that Jesus was God, but that "certainly this was God's Son."—Matthew 27:54.

Hence, the phrase "Son of God" refers to Jesus as a separate created being, not as part of a Trinity. As the Son of God, he could not be God himself, for John 1:18 says: "No one has ever seen God.".

The disciples viewed Jesus as the "one mediator between God and men," not as God himself. (1 Timothy 2:5) Since by definition a mediator is someone separate from those who need mediation, it would be a contradiction for Jesus to be one entity with either of the parties he is trying to reconcile. That would be a pretending to be something he is not.

The Bible is clear and consistent about the relationship of God to Jesus. Jehovah God alone is Almighty. He created the prehuman Jesus directly. Thus, Jesus had a beginning and could never be coequal with God in power or eternity.

No, he was not "simply a good man."
He did come from heaven, w/ a prehuman existence; he was God's masterworker before the founding of the world--
Pr. 8:22-31.

He is the unique Son of God---
He is the only-begotten Son of God, the only Son produced by Jehovah alone. This Son is the 1st born of all creation.
He is the 2nd greatest personage in the universe.

He was the Messiah--the promised seed.

When he read in the temple from the book of Isaiah--he said:
"the Scripture you have just heard has been fulfilled."

like you said "Neither option allows for the view that he was simply a good man."

Bambi:
Many people don't even believe there was a Jesus. We can only base our beliefs on what we have read or experienced.
Reading is subject to the coloring of concepts and ideas that others have. Each person must decide what they want to believe. Was he more than just a man? Was he just a good man? Jesus said, there is no good but the Father. Jesus was his Son Incarnate. The Goodness that is in God , surely was in Jesus being his son. That is why he was letting that person decide. Because some did not believe Jesus. If the man said Jesus was Good, Jesus was indicating through suggestion that in order to be called good he must be from God and the son of God.
Rev. TomCat - To me, Yes Jesus is the Son Of God and the Good of God, Not just a good man. Listen to what your heart tells you.!!!

Lets look at your question fom the point of the Question you asked not the string of scriptures quoted by you and a few others.

He was the fulfillment of many prophesies, from where he would be born, to how he would die, to the conditions of hiis death... some 300 in all to just look at the facts of it so I don't have the space to list them but anyone could lok them up.

There was a mathamaticial that said if someone were to fulfill just 8 of the about 300 prophesies the mathematical equivalent of someone accomplishing that task would be te same if you covered the entire state of Texas with half dollar coins two feet deep. Then you marked only one of the coins and sent someone wading into the state blindfolded, to at random pluck one coin, and it be the marked one. Or in other words fairly astronomical. So if not one prophesy went unfulfilled a much smaller chance do you think the Sovriegn of the universe would have wasted the time, and effort on meerly a good man, when the prophsies that spoke of him began at Genesis 3:16, and were prefigured by Abraham's near sacrifice of Isaac, and the first passover feast in Egypt.

Christ's had to be perfect for his sacrifice to be a ransom for all men everywhere, and for all time. I have know many a very Good man, men who were almost "saintly" in their application of God's words, and showing forgiveness for all manner of things, and yet they were far from perfect, as were the apostiles

Jesus is God, he replaced into in the previous His human beings the Jews and that they betrayed and had him crucified. 3 days later rose from ineffective. Islam got here after no longer in the previous the Torah and Bible. observe the Koran mentions Jews and Christians many many circumstances, however the Torah and Bible do no longer. it incredibly is because of the fact the Koran is a pretend. Jews=Christians on many ideals, yet Jews do no longer worship Jesus as God. tell me why did the Jews have Jesus crucified? Muslims say Jesus is largely a competent prophet. if he replaced into basically a prophet then why did Jews crucify him? because of the fact he informed the reality pronounced he's God and King of Kings. appropriate. Muslims distorted the two the Jewsih view of Jesus and Christian view. the place Jews say he the two would not exist or replaced into crucified as a heretic, meanwhile Christians say Jesus does exist and is God. observe the finished and entire opposite view is of the Muslims who weren't even around Jesus as he replaced into crucified. Muslims deny the entire element, yet they weren't there. Jews and Christians can agree he existed it incredibly is then question of is he God. Muslims do no longer even have faith he replaced into crucified, yet the place have been they? and greater importantly the muslims got here final. that's information that they are made up view. Christianity in basic terms branches and possibilities up Jesus rather of denying Him.

CS Lewis said Jesus was either an evil man. a mad man or the Son of God." His words and actions lead you to no other choices. Each of us must determine which we think He is but just a good man is not a choice.

Well i believe that Jesus is the savior of the world. But for those who don't believe in him as being the Son of God, like my step-dad, he says that Jesus was a good man and the world would be a better place if ppl followed his teachings even if he was just a man. And I agree. Why not? All he did was go around and say nice things to ppl and take care of others and heal their sickness and stuff. He was a completly unselfish person. All he did was for others. We could all benefit from a little serving our fellow man.

Jesus was what he said he was. He was the son of God. How could he lie? God is the ultimate example of goodness. I think that jesus was all good because he never lied, nor sinned, he always helped people. God came down to earth in the form of Jesus. If God is all good then surely jesus is too.

Jesus was perfection. Born of God. Son of God. Jesus had 12 witnesses to his reality and two of them spread the word that Jesus was the Son of God, capable of doing miracles.
