I am not sure what the facts are on this. But my sleeping has been alll messed up. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer about 4 years ago. I have a hard time falling asleep at night and a hard time staying awake during the day. I have seen my dr and we are working on finding out what is gooing on. Have you been working with your dr? Maybe just a sleeping pill for a few month will help you get in a better sleeping pattern. Good luck! I feel your pain..

Dear Mark,
I too a cancer patient have gone through a radical nephractomy followed by on going chemotherapy.I am getting good sleep in the night around 6 to 7 hours. It is because i think i will be very busy in the day time wakup at 4.15 am and go to bed not earlier than 9.30 pm.i never think that i am a cancer patient. No body surrounding me knows that i am a cancer pecient except my wife, children, brothers and very close relatives.Because i dint want somebody showing mercy on me.You can also try as above.Keep courageous after all you have to face Wat ever is suggested by the god if you believe.face every thing with a smiling face.take out from your mind that you are a patient, you will be alright and you can sleep.listen good music when you are free.it will help you a lot.Dont go to the bed when you dont fell to sleep.

This may be related to the type of cancer you had, the treatment you had, the stress or worry of a recurrance or totally unrelated to your cancer treatment.
Following my treatment I have gone into early menopause, which includes hot flushes and increased nightly urination. Both these disturb my sleep, but getting up to to to the toilet in winter fixes the hot flushes as well! LOL!
Once I have solved the immediate issue I go straight back to sleep and if anything, sleep more now than I did pre-cancer.

My problem is I cant get enough sleep! - The whole experience, surgery etc was exhausting and I would love to be able to just sleep my life away! Because this is all very recent for me, I have put it down to all the stress and day to day stuff playing on my mind that you still have to deal with in between the whole cancer experience. When I do sleep - I sleep very well, but it is erratic.
