I feel naucious after drinking alchol, and it is because of the medication called "Naltrexone".
What can I do to reduce nauciousness and feel not sick?

Naltrexone is an opioid receptor antagonist used primarily in the management of alcohol dependence and sometimes opioid dependence.The drug is used to help you stop drinking and limit your desire for it and decreases craving by blocking these pleasurable "high" effects of alcohol and is more beneficial after your stop drinking
Initial problems of nausea usually disappears after a few days if you do not combine alcohol and the medication. It can cause dizziness and fatigue. It can also cause headaches and make you feel anxious, sleepy, or nervous.
You should talk with your doctor about the side effects of the drug for your own reassurance that everything is okay.

Naltrexone is prescribed to prevent cravings in recovering alcoholics. This drug along with counseling is effective with alot of people. If you were prescribed Naltrexone for this reason and need counseling, contact the doctor that gave you the prescription for a recomendation of a good counselor. If you look around some, you can generally find free counseling if you are low income or at a reduced rate. you could contact your nearest detox and they probably have a list of counselors who woyuld assisst you. I am not saying that you are mentally ill, but if you contact mental health they might give you a refferal to a drug/alcohol counselor. Good Luck

Do not use narcotic drugs or alcohol while taking naltrexone. Never try to overcome the effects of the medication by taking large doses of narcotic drugs or alcohol. Doing so could result in dangerous effects, including coma and death.

The best answer is to stop drinking!
Presumably you got on this med to punish yourself for drinking by causing you to be sick if you do. If you CAN'T stop, then you need to consider that throwing up all the time isn't good for you either...can lead to problems with your digestive system, esp your esophagus, the muscle that works the hardest when you throw up. Your teeth can also be affected, your stomach can become injured, and it also affects blood pressure, and in some cases, blood sugar.
You really need to be ready to give up your addictions. Rehab? AA? Clearly punishing yourself with Antabuse and similar medications is not working for you.

What is wrong with you? You are taking a medication designed to make you nauseous when you drink because you have a drinking problem. And then you complain because it is doing it's job and you are still trying to drink. You need to go to re-hab and AA.

Quit drinking. This drug is used to manage alcohol and drug dependency. The medication is doing just what it supposed to do. Get a clue!

To reduce feeling sick ummm I don't know how about don't drink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

;-{} "NOo'e`.Bodies supposed to be drinking Alcohol when taking a ... I guess prescribed medication !!... Try drinking loads & loads of water !! it'll water down the affects I guess !?! Either that or it'll go in the tiolet one way or the other !?!
