I was in 3rd grade and it was a big deal to me, and i had to take care of them all on my own. I think that to me, it is a little old, BUT parents have reasons. There are worse things than not having your ears pierced, but depending on how old she is, maybe she could show her desire and responsibility by looking up stats on saftey of peircing ears, rate of infection, stuff like that is on internet or just call your doctor for professional advice. Mom and dad may have a good reason, but she can always try her best to show then the other side. They've already said no, so what's the worst that could happen?

well....... i've seen babies have their ears pierced at two years old so i think you should be at least 2 and to get a second peircing maybe 13 or something ( this doesnt apply for everyone cuz one of my friends is 10 and she has had a second pierce since 3rd grade )

I guess it depends on the parents and their views. However, I feel a good age is when the child expresses she wants to have it done and is willing to take care of them herself. My 8 year daughter is debating on getting her ears peirced.

WOW...well I guess it just depends on how parents feel about it. My daughter was 3 when she got her 1st peircing. She is now 10 & has her second. But no more now 2 is enough.

To me there isn't a hard and fast rule but my dd's aren't getting any piercings in their ears until they are responsible enough to take care of them.

At this moment, ages 11 & 9 there is no way! Maybe when they are 15 or so they might be. :)

16 is kinda harsh. The rule in my family was you could get one at 8, but you were 100% responsible for taking care of your ears, and if they got infetcted and closed up then you had to get the money to get them re-pierced. I had to re-do it 2 times!!!!

I don't like double piercings, so it was never an issue.
