Of course it is....It shows that you are interested and that you care....If someone is late It is a dissapointment...and a big one.
On the first date if you are late you are risking losing the person you are going on the date with. If he/she is waiting for too long..they might just go home and decide that you don't want to meet them...they will think they have been stood up

It's always important to be punctual. Especially on the first date. Being on time is a courtesy. If you can't even be bothered to show up on time, how can your date expect you to care about anything. It's not hard to be on time, if you can't even make that tiny effort, how hard are you going to work at the relationship?

Hell yes...lateness can say a whole lot of negative things about you that might not necessarily be true. It can say that you don't care about the person, you don't respect them, or that they're just not that important to you. On a first date lateness is rude...if you know you're gonna be late though at least call ahead and let the other person know. Don't keep them hanging wondering what has happened to you. In the event that you're not able to call ahead and you do show up late, please have a good apology and try not to make it a repeat offence.

Lets reverse your question for you. Would you want someone to be late for YOU regardless of if its a date or just a dentists appointment ?
No matter what it is, its certainly important to be there in good time. Manners are everything and it makes the person you are meeting feel very inconsequential and unimportant. Its as if you dont care enough.
Most people wouldnt want to know you if you thought so little of them that you turned up late for a date and they would go home again.

If you're not a bumb a** they don't behave as one.Really just be yourself and don't try to impress. The real you comes out eventually anyway and that's usually when the fighting and crap starts and you become someone the other person says they don't know.

yes, first impressions are the most important. the impression that u form of sum1 in the first 10mins is the most important and influences everything u think of that person frm then on!

Yes it is! It just shows that you are really interested to the other person. And making people wait, unless you have a good reason, is just plain rude.

simple-- because it shows that a.) you're responsible, and b.) you actually care enough.
same for everything really, not just a first date.
come on, this is common sense. think about what feels different when somebody is late versus on time?
