This isn't the 50s anymore. Of course, a girl can go out on her own at any time. Why should she sit home and let life pass her by? However, I would say that a lot depends on where the person is going. Theatre, movies, museums, restaurants, no problem.
Certain bars/taverns in some communities have certain reputations, so a woman should know beforehand what she might be getting into if she choose to go to a bar/tavern that's commonly known as a "meat market." Going to a place like that might make her look like she's looking for a pick up, and so what if she is? that's what the men are there for, too...so why should anyone else judge?

Heck, I do it all the time! It's not a bad thing, if someone else thinks that's wrong, then that's their problem - not yours. If you go out by yourself, the two main things to remember is BE CAREFUL and HAVE FUN!
Make sure you park your car in a well lighted area, watch your back, watch what you drink, and always keep an eye on your drink! People may still slip things in your drink without your knowledge - happened to me once.
But that hasn't stopped me from going out by myself, I just don't go to that particular place alone anymore.
With that said, if people find that you can have a good time by yourself, it shows you have a lot of confidence. I've met some really interesting people along the way. Good luck, be careful, and HAVE FUN! :-)

Absolutely though it may not be smart in this time and age. Safety is very important and going with another female as a companion is always the best choice if you don't have a proper date. If that's not possible, go ahead and go alone but make sure someone knows where you're at, and if you go somewhere else call them. That way if there's ever a problem you're easier to track down. Socially acceptable, you bet!

Yes, of course it is acceptable for a girl to go out on her own on a Saturday night!
Infact it is quite important for a girl to have some alone time!
I often find that if I don't spend ANY time alone then I get stressed quite easily, and end up snapping!
Also if people are having a go at you for going out on your own then, in my opinion they SERIOUSLY don't know what thery are talking about! SCREW THEM do what u wana do! don't let other people lead your life!
So yer, just enjoy your Saturdays how u wish!

Many guys may at first try and pull you but if you not interested then may want to make friends...

Yes it is socially acceptable, and wise sometimes.
It makes people think your out on errands or just feel like being independent for a while.
It never means she has no friends, or is on the pull (whatever u mean by that).

It's socially acceptable, but should you choose to do so you will be the target of unwanted attention. There is safety in numbers!
