I came across another similar question. But I would like to ask more in detail about one monthly expenses a Mustang in this country. I did some research:

The lowest range 2005 Mustang GT uses a 4.0L Cologne V6 engine, and Road Tax = $1525 + 1 x (engine capacity - 3000) per 6 months, so for a 4.0L car it would be $1525 + 1 x (EC of 4000 - 3000) = $2525 for half a year, a year would be $5050. There is a discount on Road Tax from 1 Sep onwards so it would be $4646 for every year subsequently. (5050 x 0.92) So which means a month = $388.

As for fuel, for a 4L car it would cost $150 for a full tank, so perhaps pump up full tank say twice a month would be $300.

Parking = $60 a month. For HDB parking.

Therefore the total expenditure per month would be $748, we can round it off to $780 for including other expenses.

My question is this: Am I missing out any other stuff needed to pay per month? And is any of the above figures incorrect?

Some years ago there was a cost estimate printed in the Straights Times. It included $20/mo average for fines. It's difficult to remain fine free especially in parking.

You also didn't include ERP or parking away from your licensed lot.

The most glaring oversite is vehicle cost and insurance. The insurance may cost you another $500 per month dependent on your age and length of time you've had a policy with the company of choice.

When I sold my 911 the biggest stumbling block was the perspective buyers not being able to get insurance for a performance sports car. I didn't have the problem because I had insurance with the same company for 25 years.

If you are importing it you also need to calculate the cost of emission certification by the manufacturer, cost for LTA inspection and approval, C.O.E and 150% duty on LTA's evaluation. What you pay for the car doesn't matter, It's based on it's percieved value here.

Grand Touring The ford GT is the GT40 under a new name,a guy bought the rights to the name so ford changed the name to keep the production rights, a little bit of ford history.
