I believe that the US's oil obsession is no greater nor less than most nations ! At this point in time, oil is still a depleting resource still very much in demand by most nations.
The US is very active in finding energy alternatives. Once it has settled on the energy and resources that will help reduce it's need for oil, it too will be less dependent on the middle east, to fill it's needs.
I'm curious as to how you know that Great Britain and other countries will be against the obsession you claim the US has regarding oil. To an oil producer such as Great Britain, a market such as the US and it's need for oil, is what helps keep the prices high for oil. That cannot bode to badly for Great Britain.
The US and Great Britain have had spats over the years, but they are each others strongest ally. War between these two free world nations would weaken all of the free world. It is unlikely to happen any time soon !

Dear Ol' Chap,
Don't you have something better to be doing with your time that asking questions like this?
If I was English, I would be ashamed that an English boy would ask this question. Such shortsightedness! TSK! TSK! Think about the long term ramifications of such a thought, I don't think the English would lower themselves to bloody their hands on such a subject. It is more their style to show the USA up, as this sit about in their environmentally friendly homes, or walk in their lovely gardens, talking about the pathetic state the USA is in because, "Well those dears, they just don't know how to rule themselves. Just look at the wreck the people made with their though less votes. You know my niece married a US citizen, poor dear. So sad, but then, we can't help being perfect, we're English after all." lol
Another thing you forget, is that the USA government changes on a very regular basis's. Lucky for us!
cheerio!

in all probability seeing as Britain is Americas "astounding" best buddy, i think of the politicians could detect a thank you to coheirs the prevalent public into turning out to be a member of the conflict, yet often simply by fact if Britain refused, it could destroy the alliance with united statesa. and all commerce agreements with it, Europe secure (yet i think of extra Britain than Europe, considering Europe does not take lots activity in the affairs of united statesa.). The question is, could Russia connect the conflict? reason then ist a international conflict and all of us comprehend what occurs then. specific, Fallout.

Ryan. Its clear you do not like America. Hence in your last question you omit them from your list of countries with an army bigger the little country of Ireland. This question is about your jealousy of America and others. It has no meaning or logic.

No Britian and USA are staunch allies and I seriously doubt they would start a war with America over oil obsession as you put it.

No, there won't be a war between America and Britian. America is too morally and financially bankrupt to have a war.
Imagine what it would be like though, soldiers pushing their tanks to save gas, hilarious!
