It blasted off from Cape Kennedy this morning and is due to arrive on Mars in May 2008. If it finds ice (and maybe bacteria) it will be a major step toward PROVING evolution is correct as the origin of life.I for one hope it does because it is truly a peace-keeping mission in light of the religious wars in the Middle East.

Proof of historic presence of oceans and water has already been proved. Some calamity struck mars causing it to shift 50 degrees on it's axis. It's thought the water may have seeped below the surface and exists today as subterranean oceans.

Personally I hope they find there was a life form on Mars and it survives today below the surface.
