I am dying my hair a dirty blonde, but I want to add lighter blonde highlights to it as well (like a picture of me when I was around 3 years old). This would be done at home, and I was wondering what products are recommended for doing this? Is there any way I can do the all-over coloring and the highlights the same night?

Thanks for any help.

I maybe too late, but I would not recommend doing it all at once. I was a hairdresser for 23 years, and unless your can do the foils and do your base color and hightlights. That would be the way to go. Or just get it done by a pro, at least the hightlights and you could do you base color. Your hair takes a lot of stress when you color you hair and high light it all in one day. I would recomment going to a beauty supply place like Sally's if you have one where you live. Well is a good highlighter.
Good luck.

Sure you can. For highlights just use any frosting kit you find at Walmart, Target or such. I do that on my friends hair all the time. Good luck

Also make sure you use a really good conditioner after. I would recommend Aussie's 3 minute hair repair. It's better than the stuff that comes with the coloring kits.

Try Loreal products. They add highlights in at the same time as dying the base colour.

Signs of Poetry,

That is up to you but here's what my hairdresser tells me. She said to wait until there's more gray in my hair.
