i'm sorry to hear this. you must be worried...
go for a walk and call for him. if he's in distress he will call back and you will hear him.
if you don't find him, keep him in your thoughts.
i hope he'll be back soon.

If your cat comes back I would suggest keeping it inside. The life span of an outside cat averages 8 years, the inside cat average is 15 years. Also keep in mind that while your cat may be hunting, there are things out there that will hunt him. I'm sorry to tell you that but it is true, if you are going to let him outside you have to realize the risk to him.

Hate to say this, but you don't know what kind of critters are living in the woods. Try to keep the faith, and praying doesn't hurt at all-see if you can get other people to pray for your cat's safe return-alot of little prayers-- I am not a bible thumper by any means, but my cat was lost a few weeks ago(keep him in, but got the screen door open) I inhereted him last year and he is blind in 1 eye and 12, but I contacted people and even ran into a woman in the woods by me who prayed for him. Found him! I will give it a shot and pray for you and your cat's safe return

Is he neutered? Most cats do this when they are looking for a mate. The moon thing might sound odd to some people but it has been proved that animal(and human) behaviour is affected by the moon! I think your cat will return home. He's probably going to be a daddy though! Get him fixed as soon as you can,it cuts down on the wandering.

Wishing both of you the best.
I have heard of cats that go awol for weeks or months at a time. He may just have found something far more exciting than what's at home.
Some cats just do and unfortunately, it is pretty much out of your hands.
If it was me I would be talking to my neighbors to see if anyone has seen him. I understand you being worried. I would be too.
Hope everything works out well.
