Psalm 27:10--"Why my mother and father forsake me, you Lord, will lift me up".
Because I left the Jehovah's Witness cult behind for true Christianity when I became an adult. My parents have rejected me for this during this second half of my life. But the Lord has always held me up and I have never looked back in regret. He has been my comfort in the storm and this verse has always been my anchor when the situation has weighed heavily upon me.

Taz, welcome to the Religion and Spirituality forum. Just be prepared that you are coming into the equivalent of a rough bar with a group of eclectic people. It's never boring, and a lot of us come here to have fun and to learn from one another. So, please be prepared that a lot of times you will receive some less than nice answers. Just click off the ones that get you fuming, because answering in anger will almost always make you regret what you say later on. (By the way, this place will get to you at one time or another, because almost all of us find this out).
My life's verse: Psalms 121:2
My strength comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth"

Micah 6:8 Do Justice, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly with God. I have difficulty remembering all of the 10 Commandments, so the short list is better for my poor mind. I also like Leviticus 19, however it contains far too many rules for me to remember, much less to believe and follow.

I love the scriptures in the gospels about the empty tomb. They're my favorite because people just don't rise from the dead. The believers must've been so awestruck and joyous when they saw that empty tomb of Jesus their Savior. I wish I could've seen it, too and I wish I could have seen Him after He rose before He was taken up to heaven. But I am just thankful to know him now through His spirit.

It's a question that can't be repeated often enough.
My own favorite is in John 13...please forgive me, I don't remember the exact verse right now, but it goes like this
(Jesus speaking)
"A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another. As I have loved you, that you also love one another.
By this shall all men know that you are my disciples; by the love that you have, one for the other."
Here, Jesus gives a COMMAND...in His own right as God! He leaves no room for argument, it is a by-golly COMMAND!!
So, what is so important to the Lord that He uses the "C" word?
Simple.
That you love one another.
But there is a caveat:
As I have loved you, that you also love one another.
That makes a HUGE difference...Jesus loved unconditionally, and we are to do so, also.
And He adds this qualifier:
By this shall all men know that you are My disciples...by the LOVE that you have one for the other.
People do know, you know, that followers of Christ who have this sort of love are "different" somehow...they may not realize it, but their instinct tells them...the difference is that they have been in the Presence of God...
Unfortunately, there aren't very many of them around...

There are thousands of verses in the Bible, I don't think I can pick just one..
To name a few,
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
(trust in God)
"Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin again You." Psalm 119:11
(soak in His word)
"So then each of us shall give account to himself to God." Romans 14:12
(We will be judged according to our actions)
"For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness." 1Thessalonians 4:7
(We must live in holiness, without sin)
"You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ" 2Timothy 2:3
(Christians will go through hardships)
And many more
A passage I do treasure is
Ephesians 3:14-21
It's long but I love it.

St John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotton son that whosoever believeth in shall not perish but have everlasting life. Because to think God loved me that much is so awesome,if I had been the only one here He still would have done the same.

Hard to say but Eph 1 is great as it lays out salvation by grace and the complete work of Christ, the great power that works in believers and the majesty of His Body, the church

This is one of my favorite verse. Because whenever i kneel down & pray. All my problems disappears.
Philippians 4:6 Never worry about anything, but in every situation let your petitions be made known to God in prayers and requests, with thanksgiving.
