Evolution has to start with something, bacteria,or what ever, but who??? made that bacteria or what ever??? The only one that starts with nothing is the master creater God. God created every thing, bacteria and every other thing. nothing just poped up, unless God told it to, God spoke and it was done. There is no bases for evolution period. Bacteria has its function, Humans have bacteria in the area of the large intestines, it is all so used in some foods (Blue cheese). God created every thing with a purpose.

it's all to do with beneficial mutations - evolution isn't deliberately driven in a certain direction. Every time a new lifeform is born (hatches etc) it carrys with it some mutations. Some are beneifical, some are harmful and some don't really do anything. If the beneficial ones make that lifeform more likely to procreate and pass on the beneficial mutation - thats when evolution starts occuring.

wouldn't you be better directing your questions to the biology section - you don't seem to have a grasp of basic evolution.

Evolution is not a conscious decision. It happens inevitably. If a new trait enables a living thing to survive better then it is more likely this animal will survive to breed and therefore pass this trait on. Nothing is guiding the organism - there are lots of worthless or even dangerous genetic variations (cystic fibrosis for instance) which are passed on too.

Most importantly, humans are not the top of the list - there is no top. Yeast, sharks, chimpanzees, oak trees, dogs, salmon - they are just as viable a living thing as we are, it's just we have developed a different way of surviving and passing on our DNA.

Atheists don't subscribe to the ridicule worthy idea of "Intelligent Design." So the premise your question is founded on, that atheists think evolution was started by some living thing able to make such decisions, is false.

That question implies that there IS a force guiding the bacteria. Evolution does not come from conscious thought.

Your argument = FAIL

Questions like this come across as massively ignorant, primarily because they assume that atheists are the only people who believe the science of evolution.

Determination and belief are the starting points for success.

Evolution does not involve a conscious choice on the part of the organism. The fact that you imply it does proves that you don't have the slightest idea what you are talking about. Please educate yourself.
