If god created it, why is it depicted as so sinful and horrible? The human body is beautiful in all forms, why do religions such as Christianity condemn it?

Because someone back in the stone age said something and now it's gospel...

Personally, I think there are a few design flaws... God couldn't have made the knees a little sturdier? Come on... seriously, after 3 knee surgeries, I think I have the right to complain to the big guy about that one....

The Bible doesn't condemn the human body, where are you reading that? God created humans, but after the fall (Genesis) we lost the perfection we once had. For example, if the skin is cut it will bleed, scab, scar, and heal. The Bible states that when we get our new Heavenly bodies they will be perfect - that is they will feel no pain, heal instantly, and be easier to maintain. All the Bible is saying is that our earthly bodies are wonderful, yes, but there is a Heavenly body awaiting believers when they die that will be even better.

God created humans in his own image. But it is the choice of the humans to rise above all things which distract him through the impulses of his five senses(namely, touch, taste, smell, vision, hearing).

Maybe the Old testament was written so harshly during the time where there was more rogue behaviour, less politeness. God in old testament is a mean, arrogant person who will punish you, so that people during that reign will be polite, become spiritual and avoid doing bad things.

When we compare the New testament, the same God is polite, forgiving, and kind compared to the God of the Old testament. This is my personal belief after a detailed individual investigation. Hope this helps you. Best of luck.

I have been a Christian for 50 years and have never heard of a Christian condemn the human body.

This Christian don't.
I've been married 20 years and know and understand God made this body beautiful. This is what one of the greatest Kings of Israel said about the body....
Psalms 139:13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
:14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

The Songs of Solomon talk explicitly about the body and sex.

Some people are so religious they miss out on the great things God has blessed them with.

Lust is a problem, because it is a problem of the heart of man.
The body however is a beautiful masterpiece created by God.

Hi, The human body is beautiful! We are the only creatures that that God hand formed. And breathed life into with his own breath! He said he formed the woman from Adam and he blessed them, and told them to multiply. My thoughts are maybe some are teaching its bad is.......Maybe they struggle with lust and don't know how to fight it, so its easier to give all of the "explanations" Religion Binds men, But a relationship with Jesus frees men, Jesus is better in every way!

No condemnation of the human body itself, but only the misuse of it. If someone attacked another person with a baseball bat, I wouldn't be against baseball bats in general by simply denouncing the beating.

I think St. Paul may have had something to do with that. How can something made by God be anything but beautiful and perfect in Her eyes?

Because it leads to sex and the original sin. That's why I'm glad I don't follow that particular religion. How can a parent look at their child as the result of sin especially when the same result is considered a gift from god???
