And I don't want your typical answers of because this and this and this and this is what you believe and you've been deceived. I was raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and have heard it my whole life. I've researched all the wonderful things that people say about my church and could probably give you some more but I want to know why people who say they are Christians and I'm not are always saying mean things about my religion like Satan answered my prayer to tell me that my church was true and good, which by the way, might be my favorite that Satan is capable of giving me feelings of peace and joy when I'm praying to my Father in Heaven. Anyways, question still stands, why do you go out of your way to research my religion it bash it? Do you honestly think that will make a difference? Wouldn't you think living a Christlike life and being an example to me would work better? I don't know though. It's just a thought.

Sorry, I just realized that part of that didn't make sense but many of you did not follow the assignment and just told me things that you disagree about anyways. Well, that was fun to read through all the answers. Thanks to those who actually answered the question and to those who didn't, thanks for letting me know how delirious and deceived I've been for the past 26 years again and please just stop saying what your pastor told you to say. I've heard it:)

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have my thoughts on this. I have been active and inactive. My inactivity was almost to the point of apostasy, but I never denied. I'm now very active and have a current temple recommend.
I personally have heard the comments as well and how so many "hate" filled comments on our beliefs. From what I have heard, it is all due to ignorance. That is not meant derogatory towards anyone. But meant by the purest definition of the word. I am personally ignorant of the intricacies of the Catholic faith. Others are ignorant of the same in our faith. People fear and dislike the unknown.
The only other explanation I have ever come up with is the fact that these are the last days and Satan is working harder than ever to suppress the true church and gospel of Jesus Christ.

Because they don't know exactly what a Christian is. A Christian should follow Jesus' example and Jesus never hated and much less the that worsips him and accepted him as the savior.
Hate is wrong. Many people don't like Mormons because they don't understand our beliefs and they try its best to put us down to try to make themseves greater. Arrogance is used. We all should love and respect each other no matter the religion. One religion should not bash another because after all, we all have the same objective: get closer to God, find spiritual peace and salvation.... in different ways but we are all.

Some "professed" Christians do seem to hate LDS Mormons. Some of them just seem like hateful people and if they are not bashing the Mormons they bash any other group they can find, Catholics, whatever. OTOH other Christians simply strongly disagree with the Utah church's beliefs and doctrines. I used to be LDS and left them for that reason... not because I disliked anybody but because I believe in the teachings and examples of Christ as taught in the Bible... and... the Book of Mormon.
Are you aware that your own Book of Mormon bitterly condemns polygamy, no exceptions, no excuses? It also not once teaches Baptism for the Dead, Celestial Marriage, the 1st Presidency, 3 Degrees of Glory and many other LDS doctrines. It even teaches AGAINST those doctrines! Don't believe me? Read it from cover to cover and see for yourself.
People disagree with the LDS religion simply because they are WRONG. They place their entire trust in the arm of flesh, those whom they consider to be prophets. Yet these prophets teach things that are opposed by both the Bible and Book of Mormon. Personally, if I wish to "bash" the LDS church, I pick up a Book of Mormon and use it as a tool to help them see what their religion is really about.

I know that "Christians" believe in God, but some of them should realize that they're not it, that goes for all religions. When people get this Holier then thou thing going on that's when the arguments start. Mormons are good people with good values who do some weird things(it's okay nothing wrong with weird) Since it's not exactly how some "Christians" think it is done, and then the fact that Mormons call themselves(and I believe they are, but that is just my opinion) Christians, they get upset and start protesting outside of Temples and General Conference. Sorry started rambling...

King David said, "Through Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way." (Psalm 119:104)
Notice it is the "false way" that is hated. The Mormon people I have known seem to be good, morale, honest people. I respect their family values, their commitment to evangelism, and many other traits they promote, but I also believe they teach error. As people I respect them, and in some ways admire them, but I do not agree with, accept, promote, condone, or love the things they teach that I believe to be false!

When Jesus called Himself the son of GOD, the hatred from the Jews increased to the point of plotting murder. All this cyber-mud slinging is dishonest, but harmless & cannot stop the only people whom Jesus Christ succors to bear His name. Massive attacks, violent carnage, even the entire US Army has not been able to, these people[LDS] are bent on Christ in a major way. I understand your love for non-believers, Christopher B. With the shallow mind set that “And I believe 100% that the ONLY way to get to the Kingdom of Heaven is to believe in Jesus Christ and repent of your sins. Nothing else required.”[buff]
Would they understand the mysteries of GOD w/o lifting the veil for them?

I used to have Mormon missionaries come over my house. They could never answer my questions. They basically just beat around the bush. They always said to pray, and I would get the answer. Come on. Furthermore, they could not provide all the archaeological proof that supposedly exists. If you do have proof, feel free to email me.
The reason why "Christians" hate on the Mormon religion so much is not so much that they are Christians and the others are Mormon. I believe it is a case of "I want to be right." I am a Christian, and I don't believe in the Mormon religion. However, I am an open minded person who would welcome any religion if given the proof to change to that religion. We all have free will, and everyone has the choice to decide which religion is right. You see this type of thing all the time. It is not just Christians vs. Mormons, but lots of religions against others because everyone wants to think their religion is right.

I don't hate anyone...I do think that Mormons have been misguided.
I have done research and I believe what I have read and studied in the Bible. No where in the Bible does it say that there was going to be another prophet who would write additions to the Bible.
And I believe 100% that the ONLY way to get to the Kingdom of Heaven is to believe in Jesus Christ and repent of your sins. Nothing else required.
Once you truly believe, you will want to follow Jesus and His ways and strive to be God-like. But good deeds alone will never get you through the gates.
God Bless and I love you!

the only answer I can come up with is that Christians, like the Muslims, hate any religion that is not theirs. But I got to tell you, the whole door to door thing, yeah, it's pretty annoying.
not all Christians, the ones that keep true to the Christ like part don't, but those like1saint of god just proved my point. Thank you.
Ps, when I lived in Utah I loved all of the commercials for the Latter Day Saints, they were very well done and very warm, and family oriented, and all of my friends were Mormon and they were great kids.
