I know alcohol kills brain cells by blocking the oxygen... and kills hormons like testosteron, etc.

But are damages or changes in the body permanent?

I am bit of a heavy drinker, and I drink often; like 3~5 beers twice a week, or half bottle of wine twice a week.

Please tell me.

Thanks.

I mean, for example, the testosteron flow decreasing permanently, etc.

yes. wise up.

Alcoholism can lead to a number of physical ailments, including hypoglycemia, brain and heart damage, enlarged blood vessels in the skin, chronic gastritis, and pancreatitis. Alcoholism can lead to impotence in men, damage to the fetus in pregnant women, and an elevated risk of cancer of the larynx, esophagus, stomach, pancreas, and upper gastrointestinal tract.

Because many alcoholics do not eat properly, they are likely to have nutritional deficiencies. Heavy drinkers typically have impaired liver function and develop cirrhosis. Vitamins can not be absorbed properly. Deficiency of vitamin B12 (thiamine) causes loss of memory and abnormal co-ordination which can be fatal if it is left untreated. Anemia can occur due to iron and folic acid deficiency. Large doses of alcohol can raise blood pressure and cause heart problems.

Further to my doctors 2 glasses of wine per day cannot arm. Above serious liver problems. But you don't seem to be such a heavy drinker compared to European standards. Anyway all depends of your age. Once a reasonable drinker later .....
Check the alcohol content this is what really matters and apparently (further to my experience) beers in the US are not that strong. The real problem is whiskey, vodka, gin, etc.

It kills your liver. As long as you can go a day or two without alcohol, you're not an alcoholic. Be careful. The amount you're drinking now is ok. Remember, if you need alcohol every day, you're in trouble. It'll affect your liver, you'll feel like crap, and you won't live a long life. Good luck in the future. :)

Damage to the brain is permanent. Brain cells can not reproduce themselves, so once they're dead, they are gone forever. You also damage your liver when you drink. This could lead to death---which is also quite permanent. If I were you, and concerned with the effects of alcohol on my body, I would quit drinking altogether.

The amount of alcohol that you are consuming isn't a large amount. In fact, the American Heart Association actually recommends that people have 1 to 3 drinks of an alcoholic beverage per day. To me, 3 drinks per day is excessive. However, what they're basically saying is that up to a maximum of 3 drinks per day isn't harmful to the body and may actually benefit the heart and cardiovascular system.
