In Christian belief it is close to God to forgive. Now human nature is to get even, revenge. But I tell you it is harmful to your mind to hold this anger and pain with in you. The anger and rage you feel will one day cause ulcer or you will let go and hurt someone. I say let it go and forgive which I know is hard even for me but life is a circle everything comes around, they will get theirs.

Well, in order to start healing yourself you really have to let it go and forgive the people that hurt you, and tell them that (if possible). It takes more courage to forgive people than to keep the rage inside. Once you decide to let it go you will feel better. It is natural to still have the anger come back at intervals but recognize it is just an emotion and you DO have control over it. I suffer with this on a daily basis with my out of control mother (drugs, alcohol, homelessness, emotional abuse etc.) But I forgave her and wrote her a letter stating why and for what. After I did that I felt that I could let it all go in a peaceful way instead of crying and feeling rageful all the time. Try it.

Mmm, tough one, cos I'm still grappling with that. I really thought I had forgiven the person, but then things happen and it all comes to the surface again. I think it's easier to forgive than forget, which would put the real closure on it. I think carrying hatred around is just an unnecessary burden. I think as time goes by and you perhaps put some physical or emotional distance between you and the person, it does get easier. However, people who say they've forgiven unconditionally must be saints. I really try but I think I will never feel towards that person as I am supposed to have felt, had circumstances been different. I hope I don't sound too confusing.

The reason to forgive them... it's not for them. It's for YOU. To bring YOU inner peace, to help YOU to heal.

Is it a sign of weakness? Absolutely not. I think it's a sign of strength. You are going through life on a daily basis in a constant state of victimization... by you taking control and forgiving them so you can move on... You are the one taking their power away...that's the best revenge out there. They can't hurt you anymore then.

They don't deserve the time of day, but you need the opportunity to move on and no longer be their victim.

Once you take back your power, you will dispel the immense rage you are feeling. That, my friend, is when you will find inner peace. Take back your life. ;)

when you can truly say you have forgiven someone and believe it, you're on your way to purging the resentment, hate and immense rage you carry. Don't blame others for the "immense rage" inside of you: you own your feelings, so let go of the rage.
If you are young (20-35), this may be difficult. Know that a time will come when you are ready to toss the negativity out of your life.

There are some things that are unforgivable.

Don't let people give you that " you have to forgive " crud.

You have a right to your own feelings.
