i have a 4 year old Chuawauwa and im trying to teach her to fetch ok first of i throw the tennis ball and she just ignores it then i bribe her with some treats and throw it and she just looks at it and it feels hopeless for me to teach her she just dosent learn ?? i used kong , tennis ball , toys , clicker but nothing

spelling "CHIHUAHUA"... anyway, I own 2. They don't fetch. They are good watch dogs, protective, a good lap dog. They don't do many tricks. They have a temperment of an old dog with their families, but the temperment of a pit bull with strangers. They are not fetching, trick performing animals. I love my dogs!!

Hmmm, if you are doing the rewards bribery thing and thats not working maybe it really is hopeless. But try doing this when she is hungry. Delay dinner for an hour and teach her stuff using treats during 15 or 20 minutes of that hour. Give her praise when she does good, almost all dogs love that. I think its spelled chihuahua.

check out all the fetching sites on methods...be patient.,... i do not believe there is no dog that cannot be taught to fetch....my little chihuahua fetches and i never taught her,, when she wants to play she brings me her toy....
make it fun for your friend and it will be easier...

chuawauwas are very smalls dogs (most of the time) and might not like to play fetch cause they have small mouths

chuawauwuas arnt known for their intelligence, and its hard to teach an old dog new tricks. if repitition doesn't work, give up.
