No 'light bulb' for me. More like finding a pair of shoes I'd bought a long time ago and forgotten about and suddenly realising 'Hey! These fit really well!'
In fact the same could be said for life itself really. ..

When as an adult I learned that most major religions, especially the one I thought I'd left behind held monastics as their most cherished followers- and these were the poorest and least attached to the world. It made me realize that the value of the afterlife was recognized beyond religious lines and the truth of the heavenly kingdom was confirmed by more than Christianity. To reread the Gospels and the words of St. Paul opened my eyes that all of the efforts of the Apostles was not meant for life in the world but to prepare us for the life beyond it- the Way, the Truth and the Life to which all Christians are called. My light-bulb moment was one of salt and light.

i learned that Christianity was a false religion the sunday after 9/11 when the people "of God" started condemning Muslims to hell - thus continuing the long held tradition of hate. Long story with lots of information. That was my true light bulb moment.

When I started having a bible study with Jehovah's witnesses. The light went on, the pieces of the puzzle finally fitted, I have been a member of a few different religions, but the hypocrisy turned me off.

I was raised in a cult ,which was fine ,it closed. Never attend a church before. Went over 15 yrs w/out a church home. My mother saw a flyer for a Chrismas event . Actually a Birth to resurrection of Jesus . Went and saw it. Not impressed . But the people were wonderful and real. i desided to go to a sunday service. He taught about Faith and said a few words that my old church leader said . I knew i had found my home. 7 yrs. come december.
GOD BLESS

The replace from religious to non-religious did no longer somewhat have an a-ha 2nd. I have been given pissed off sufficient, with the trinity theory and the skill of Christians to declare one element and do yet another (between different issues), to seem at different faiths. My era of looking between different faiths lasted approximately seven or 8 years. in this time I have been given to grips with what i in my opinion believed. the actual a-ha 2nd became as quickly as I stumbled on the term animism. finally I had a obtainable label that defined my ideals.

I have always favoured Christianity , and did learn a lot as a kid.
I can not finger the exact moment but it was here on R&S.
When i first joined i was shocked by comments by athiests and even more supprised by answers from christians.
After telling athiests they where stupid (not in those words) I picked up my bible and asked myself why are they saying these things and started to study so i could answer logicly my beliefs.
Thats when it hit me that the athiests where not stupid and many know the bible , in fact i am sure better than many christians.
If you read the bible and try to understand it , it just opens up to you.
Thank you athiests if it was not for you i would just be a ingorant christian by name only.

I embraced Druidism the day I came across this giant oak tree that had eight separate trunks growing from the same root...you could feel the life-force emanating from that thing and I realized that the only true God is Gaia...I'm so much happier now.

I was actually born into Islam. But never really cared for it. I believed what I was told and was miserable. One day decided to open the Quran and read what it really says. With out the biases of the Ullema. I believe I am a better human being now than I was a few years ago. :-)

Read the Tao of Pooh. Liked it so much I graduated to the Tao Te Ching. As I read I was thinking, "Hey, yeah!" the whole time. I'm sure it's not for everybody, but it works for me.
