I don't get the jitters like I did when I was younger, and my "time to quit hunting" endpoint is if I ever get to the point at which I no longer feel a little regret for killing the animal.

Elevarted heartbeat. so probibly my bloodpressure wil be up to. After checking to see if buck is legal to shoot I do not look at the antlers anymore. I concentrate on shot placement and breathing. But basically I'm prepared for the shot before I enter the woods, I know why I'm there.

Its because you are all about the thrill of the kill. There is a certain amount of guilt that you are suppressing and that "rush" you feel are the first sensations. You anticipate that what you are doing, in your mind, is wrong, but you are able to fight the shakes and override. It will go away eventually. You'll be able to calmly pick your shot and you will become more accuate.

It goes away after you screw up so many times and waste a lot of money on hunting trips. Then when you see your target you get pissed and blame it for all your mistakes and pummel the varmint.

It is possible to minimize these emotional and physical reactions when you are preparing to take the shot*... It is called managing your emotional reactions before that critical moment takes place*... I only get excited after the shot not during or before the shot is taken whether it be Bow or Gun*...
