I heard that in 8th grade next year we have to write a report in History class about Asian countries and I was going to it on South Korea. Can anyone tell me what it is like in South Korea?(May include culture, food, clothing, etc,.)

I have lived in Seoul and I liked living there. Public transportation is no problem, most Korean people are friendly (eventhough there's a language barrier); they push you when you're walking in the crowded sidewalks/malls, etc. but that should not bother you, it's just the way they are plus you should move as fast as the Koreans do. Everybody there looks like they're all dressed up to go to some party but they just dress like that. The food is awesome, loved eating at those hole-in-the-wall restaurants; the big American food chains are also there (TGIF, Outback, Chili's, McDo, KFD, Burger King, Domino's, Pizza Hut, etc.) but in their menus, you'll find distinctly Korean touches (like the bulgogi burger at McDo); you can walk anywhere (if you want). I like the coffee shops there, and there's an abundance of them. All the streets have coffee shops in the corner. Shopping and haggling is fun. The clothes are okay but sometimes they border on the strange. The houses there are pretty interesting; the apartments have small pyungs (or sizes); when you go to the subway, you'll find there's a whole different world underground (lots of stores, restaurants, etc.) and the subways are clean. I prefer taking the buses there since I can see the interesting scenery. All in all, I truly enjoyed my time there and wouldn't mind visiting again.

The Land Of Not-Quite-Right. Very strange place, quite absurd at times, lots of fun except that as a regular slightly ethnocentric westerner, I found the food absolutely hideous, though some of the bbq and soups are awesome. Generally the meat is all fat and everything is covered in red pepper paste.
Specifically, a stroll through Seoul will offer you your choice of fermented cabbage, dog meat, pig face, still-squirming octopus, and my personal ubiquitous favorite: "Seafood", which is a boiling pot of any creatures the chef found in or near water.
Don't be fooled by korean restaurants in the US!

I liked it. The people were great. The food is not as good as other places in Asia and the clothes are nothing special.
