Alot of sleep is good, but what is more important is the time you go the sleep, repairs of your body after a day, are taken place earlier in the night than when u go to bed late even if u sleep for 10 hrs, so i recommend u go to bed at about 9:00.

I agree with FDA Researcher (who dropped the ball with the pet food recall?).
Too much sleep will also make you tired. Every body is different. Some people can function well on 8 hours or less of sleep. I go to sleep between 9-9:30 and wake up at 5 and am just fine. For others, that may or may not be enough sleep.

This depends on how you *feel*, not on what others may say. To find out how much sleep you need is not a simple process however. There are guides available (somewhere) but you'll have to research to find them. The reason it's not easy to know how much you need is that over-sleeping can make you feel *more* tired i.e. you'll feel very tired if you have too little sleep *or* too much! I can't recall the exact process but I know this much: you start by giving yourself 8 hours of sleep (this is right for most people); unless you feel great, try having less sleep in increments of 30 minutes. If you get to the stage of only having only 5 hours and you still feel too tired, start giving yourself *more* than 8 hours per night, again, in increments of 30 minutes.
Another factor that is very important for sleep health is the *quality* of sleep you are getting. Many factors can affect this e.g. an ill-fitting or uncomfortable bed, noise disturbance, temperature i.e being too hot or cold, bad posture e.g. a bed that sags in the middle et al.
Some people also find that sleeping when it is still light outside can also affect the quality of sleep they get, so you might want to bear this in mind.

if you do not have a specific time to sleep every day it´s a problem, it doesn´t matter if you sleep everyday at 4 am and you get up at 12 am or if you sleep at 10 and get up at 7, 8 or 9 hours is the correct time.

Sounds like a little too much sleep. If you are asleep by 11pm you should be up around 7am or 8am at the latest. There is a thing called too much sleep. You'll just be even more tired all day long--the more time you sleep, the worse it gets. 11pm-7am is 8 hours of sleep. You do not need more than that.

The amount of hours you should sleep depends on a lot of factors and many have already been mentioned. If you are sleeping soundly, that is a lot of sleep. Set an alarm to get up at 8 hours and see how you feel after you get used to it. You can train your body to do a lot of things-like get used to less sleep.

If you sleep at 11:00 pm you should be able to wake up at 7:30 a.m comfortable because you slept the average required sleeping time for a youth. train yourself by using an alarm. If your work or study time starts after 9:00, then i can see no problem at all with your current sleeping timing as far as you feel comfortable.

Depends if you are a "skylark" - someone who enjoys getting up early but can't take the late nights,
or a "night-owl" - someone who can stay up late but can't wake up early.
My hubby is a skylark. Always asleep by 9pm but up at 5am. I'm a night owl. I struggle to get to sleep before midnight and wake up at 8am.
As long as you get 7-8 hours sleep you should be fine.
What matters most is that you keep it to a regular pattern. So go to bed and get up at the same times each day if you can.
Shift work is very unhealthy as it stuffs up the body clock and ruins your sleeping patterns.

I think it is the quality of sleep, along with how much you get.
