The problem is context. I have said I knew all about home automation. I know more about the subject than most I will ever meet, but not everything single thing. Someone taking me out of context would take me for a conceited know-it-all.

The same is true of God's words.
1. God's works are perfect but can be spoiled by man. He will not allow that to be a permanent condition.
2. As a spirit creature, God has no use for man made temples. His spirit is with his people.
3. God is light where no evil or darkness can exist. The clouds in 1Kings 8:12 showed He was with them, His calling card, if you will.
4. God can be seen in His creations and works by those earnestly seeking Him. He is hidden from the haughty and prideful as they want knowledge only if it can enrich them.
5. God doesn't need rest but does rest from one labor to go to another.
6. He can know everything but is not nosy. Simply because you can do something doesn't mean you have too. He gave us free will for a reason.
7. Fortunately, He judges our hearts instead of outward appearances.

It is a Spiritual book... if you take things out of context it does appear contridictory and foolish. There is more wisdom and understanding found in this one book than any that has ever been written. There is a reason why it is the best seller of all time. I hope you find the truth in it with the same dilligence you had to find the "contridictions".

You have a lot of time on your hands! the answer lies within you don't you get it? God made Male and Female in his/her image so what does that tell you?????? THINK! We arrange a room then we get dissatisfied and rearrange it don't we. We get mad then we get happy, Were nice to some and cruel to others all aspects of The Almighty get it? God is perfect because to God perfection is whatever God is and be it angry or happy and we are in that image.

"Phoenix Mortallis" said it best. You can make a contradiction of just about any part of the Bible when you take it out of the context in which it was written.

The Bible holds absolutely no contradictions. It is God's perfect Word.

All of these passages are taken out of their contexts. You have to read the whole chapter to understand the passage. Things always change when the situation changes.

For an exhaustive discussion of this topic, read Thomas Paine's "The Age of Reason." However, looking for contradictions is probably just spiritual nit-picking----probably we should just look for the meaning in the stories and parables, and leave it at that.

It depends which bible you're reading. The King James doesn't. It is the readers who doesn't understand how to read is why it seems to contradict.

now if you would only make an effort to read and understand the actual context in which these apparent "contradictions" were stated, you'll come to realize that they're actually not contradictions at all.
