Medicaid is state specific so normally your Medicaid will not work in NJ. However, in case of emergency NJ will treat you. There may be some extra charges and they may require you to return to NY immediately. I don't think I'd chance it; have your BF come visit you.

Medicaid doesn't cover you outside your state. It's in all 50 states, but each state runs their own program.
OTOH, NY and NJ aren't that big, and labor takes A WHILE. You should have plenty of time to drive back to NY after your water breaks. It won't be a fun ride if you're in active labor, but it's doable.
On the THIRD hand, a GENTLEMAN would come to you, especially if this is his baby!

it doesn't matter much if you aren't capable of paying for the hospital bill you can't be forced to pay. Don't worry too much about trying to have the baby in ny. If it happens you're in jersey when the water breaks the hospital there will take ur insurance.

Since your 9 mos pregnant - how about having your boyfriend start coming to you. That way, should your water brake, you can go to the hospital you already decided on have have your dr handle it.
