Toyota would not be the best selling car if it had problems. The Camry is one of their finest cars, but if you look for negatives, you will find many biased reviews that are bought by competitors. The fact is, you will rarely find a used Camry for sale because no one wants to part with them! Go check your used car lots and see how hard it is to find a Camry!
So what if 10 years of Camry's have 40 recalls, read them and you'll see they are all minor. Check Honda, Accord, there's over 100 recalls! Some not so minor. Fact is, regardless of recalls, it does not make the car bad. If you love the car, give it a little care and it will be true!

The camry has been recalled 38 times since 1990 and not one year has gone by since then without a recall let me provide you with a valuable link http://www.mycarstats.com/auto_recalls/autos_recalls.asp People who work for a company or are biased to the product won't provide the truth so there it is.

I work at a Toyota dealership in the service and rental dept. and we have never heard of this problem.

We've got a ton of Camry's in our rental fleet and have not had a moment's trouble with them, nor have we had any customers come in with this problem.

It might be only a few isolated cases, but if the problem becomes more widespread, Toyota will issue either a recall or put out a technical service bulletin, and the repairs would be covered under the factory warranty.

Other than transmission problems, the car is OK as long as you don't care about safety! Maybe you should have asked this question before you bought the overpriced, over hyped POS.

I have been amazed at how negative the owner reviews are on a Toyota. My neighbor has one and he says it's okay but he's bored with it - too vanilla, like a Taurus. Check this link out. http://autos.yahoo.com/toyota_camry-reviews_user/
