discipline, discipline, discipline.

discipline has sooooo much to do with spirituality. a person who tithes every week and has a regimented, scheduled prayer life sets himself to be blessed beyond imagination. God blesses those who prepare to be blessed, and through those who are blessed, He blesses others. being ready is a big part of being faithful.

The BEST..... Principle of the TITHE... is Romans 8:14..... And the OBEDIENCE.... to that Principle!

PERHAPS.... You missed the New Testament PRINCIPLE.... of Tithing..... Also!

(1Corinthians 16:2) Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, = = = as God hath prospered him, = = = that there be no gatherings when I come.

The OT Principle of the Tithe..... INCLUDED..... All Free Will OFFERINGS...... All TRESPASS..... OFFERINGS..... All FEAST.... OFFERINGS.... and the Like!

Besides the Holy Day... and Passover..... AND the Year of Jubilee... [ every 50-Years ] ..... the TOTAL AMOUNT WAS AROUND...... 50-Or MORE..... PERCENT!

Please show.... ANYONE.... how any NT Believer.... DOES THAT?

They DON'T!

And BESIDES.... the TITHE..... was.... ALWAYS OF THE GROSS..... NOT the NET.... after Taxes and FICA!

Many LEGALISTS.... Want to JUSTIFY.... their Actions with what THEY SAY.... is the TITHE!

Thanks, RR

First giving 10% of your tithe keep the enemy from having control of your lives like for intance it defeats your enemies and the offering which is something extra gives us our awarded blessing in what one stands in need of. We are to bless them that preached the word unto us concering the Lord's work. A person can give offering other means than just in church like helping a person in need and blessing other church affliations and charties. Giving gifts to those hospitalized. All I can say is that one wants to be bless try the tithing option given to us by God. God says we have robbed him in tithe and in offering. Reasons for so many chaos in this world, while we spend our money on things that do not profit us. To tithe is important cause only the things we do of the lord will last and profit us.
Also remembr God reign on the unjust as well as the just. That means he can bless anyone found in any state as he wills. Examle, he can bless an unsaved with a car and bless a chrsitian with a car too. Now that is reigning on the just and the unjust. Our faith is what pleases God and bring lots of blessing, just believe in god and that is how we exercise our faith in him.

I am a Christian and that is one area that I believe that the Church as a hole has missed the mark. If God was so concerned with money why did Jesus put a thief (Judas Iscariot) in charge of it when he was here. Asking puts an unnecessary burden on people. People should be able to give out of the gladness and desire of their heart without feeling pressured. Titheing is of the Law. Now we give as the Spirit leads and with joy.

god has told believer that they are to give 1/10 (a thithe) of all of their harvest to the "church". The church in turn will use it to help (in biblical times) the widows and orphans, the beggars (blind, lame etc...).
In modern times we're still supposed to give a tithe and it is used to pay the pastors salary and any support staff like the sexton, the secretary etc..., the electrical and water bills, to pay for church sponsored programs and those types of things.
A thithe is only $0.10 of every dollar. So it appears that God isn't asking people to do without much is he?
Hope this helps

To help those in need. I don't believe tithing has to be to a church although I see nothing wrong with that so long as the church members have a say in how it is used. Giving to charities or someone you know who is in need is just as good. The purpose I believe is to share our blessings with others so they are too blessed.

First and foremost, it is a recognition that everything we have belongs to God and He's basically lending it to us, so we should not be selfish with it.

Secondly, it supports the function of the Church, which is to administer sacraments and serve the people. Ever since the early Church (see Acts), the Church has been a place where the widowed and orphaned and oppressed could get food and shelter, and by tithing, we support that effort...at least we do in churches that understand that mission.

If I can't give up 1 bushel of corn and make do with 9 whole bushels of corn for the year there's a serious problem in the coop.

To the Christian the church is their home away from home and they are responsible for the upkeep of their home, (church). This is where tithing comes in.
