If you are suffering from depression, go to the doctor now. Any time you think you have any type of medical problem, always seek help asap. Depression is very treatable so why wait to feel better. Depression can make you a very private person. Just tell your parents you need to go to the doctor. They will ask why and tell them you are having bouts of depression and can't get over them-that you would like to talk to a doctor. Try to initiate the conversation when they are not rushed and just start talking. Maybe rehearse how you want to start so you can speak clearly and concisely. They will have a ton of questions but you know you need help so go get it. If they want specifics, just tell them you would like to talk to your doctor. You can ask your doctor to not reveal everything specifically you tell him to your parents, just generalities. Tell your doctor everything. Hope this helps. . .

if i were you i would just go to them and say i havent been feeling like myself, not as happy n i dont know why and i feel stressed a lot and really tired a lot(fatigue comes with depression and alot of depression meds are sposed to give u energy) and just explain to them its nothing they need to be really worried about, ur not gonna do n e thing stupid but u just think they could help with it and would like to try them or at least talk to ur dr about it. and i wouldnt wait til college to try getting them bc u might have to go through a couple different kinds before u find the one thats right for u and some have bad side effects that are hard to deal with like certain ones can make u dizzy and it would be really hard to be in a new environment away at college and possibly have to go through trying medicines and if it has side effects missing classes when u just started. it would just be better if u did it before u went to college so u can get on the right one before hand
