I watched the show satan, the truth or a hoax on ABC at 10:00pm on thursday. It tells people about the orgin of satan, people experiencing hell. I'm a 13 year old witch,I'm just trying to keep and open mind and hopefully use this research to promote religious tolerance. I know that Satanism is an athiest social group. Athiest dont believe But ever since then I wanted to start my research without reading a bible or any religious scripture. I also found that the people believed to be possesed by the Devil are actors, people who want attention. I want to know where Satan came from, how did christians kno that he is evil. How did lucifer, the italian sun god, had a connection with him. i also researched that Early christians believed in reincarnation and worshipped a Goddess like pagans. It also said that Jesus spent three consecutive days in the purgatory. I want to find information to prove to others that Satan is BS, there is no reason to fear him.
Do you have any ideas on his existanc

I read books you know. It proves very well satan is a hoax. Even our preachers have said it them selves. T.D jakes has also said it on the radio. It has been discovered that satan is bullshit since 2003. and noone wants to believe it. How do you all kno that satan is real. You can't blame satan for the sins, blame the sinners, they must take responisbility for their actions.

Satan is first mentioned in the bible by name in 1 Chronicles 21:1. This is during David's reign, about the year 1000 B.C.E. If you believe that Satan is an "invention", then he is an invention of the Jews that is at least 3000 years old.
"I also found that the people believed to be possesed by the Devil are actors, people who want attention"
All that you can ascertain is that *some* people believed to be possessed are fakes. It is not possible for you to determine with any certainty that *all* people believed to be possessed are fakes. The priest who exorcised the demon that was (inaccurately) portrayed in The Exorcist claimed that, in a lifetime of exorcisms, that case was the only true case of demonic possession that he ever dealt with.
"how did christians kno that he is evil"
In addition to 1 Chronicles (mentioned above) is Job. This book, in the Old Testament, pre-dates Christianity by at least several centuries and describes some of Satan's evil tendencies.
The word "Satan" means "adversary".
About Lucifer:
Lucifer is used in the Latin Vulgate to translate a phrase in Isaiah (14:12) meaning "Daystar". Likewise, Lucifer is Latin for "bringer of light" or "day star", so the translation is accurate. Unfortunately, Christian tradition associates this verse with Satan. According to the New Jerusalem Bible, Regular Edition, this verse likely refers to the false gods of Phoenicia. Nevertheless, the tradition of applying the word "lucifer" (the only time it is used in English bibles) as a name of Satan continues. It seems most likely that Satan is not a topic of this verse.
"i also researched that Early christians believed in reincarnation and worshipped a Goddess like pagans."
You must be referring to Christian gnostics, most of the sects of which have failed to survive to the present day (I believe that there is still one such ancient sect in Iraq or Iran). That this strange group of sects existed alongside scriptural Christianity in the early centuries is certain. What's your point?
"It also said that Jesus spent three consecutive days in the purgatory."
This sounds like an RCC teaching. Here are the supporting verses:
1 Peter 3:18-22
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the spirit:
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him
This, of course, has nothing specifically to do with Satan.
I hope this helps.

OK, and WOW – great question. I’m already 50 years old and still don’t have the clarity of mined that you've developed in your 13 years.
But can we for the sake of argument set aside the question of whether the Devil is real or not and just focus on good and evil?
I suggest this because from my own experience I have seen plenty of examples of both good and evil from Thailand to California USA. There are many people that are misguided and believe they can hurt others without remorse, they believe they can steel without consequences, and they willfully destroy children without penalty.
The rationalization that spiritual people bring to this earth is we understand that these behaviors are not acceptable. We understand that LOVE is the only motivating force connecting the human spirit.
Besides, why help market an IDEA that has no value in helping people be more successful, be more responsible, be more understanding, or be more caring.
Please get involved with my spiritual side and help spread the LOVE.
God Bless!

Of course Satan and his breed (the devils) do not exist. His existence is not compatible with the notion of an all-perfect, just and loving God. The popular notion is that Satan and his devils were the imperfect angels who rebelled against God.
If this is the case then God made a terrible mistake and is letting His other creation (mankind) take the consequences. This certainly not just and not a show of love for mankind.
Religous leaders of course keep on emphasizing Satan's
threat to mankind because this will enhance their role as the
"defenders" of the faithful against Satan.

I think that you have been grossly misinformed. And at 13 you don't know what you are dabbling in. They have pulled the wool over your eyes, which is exactly what they want to do, especially at your age, you are still very vulnerable.
Check out sites about the Free Masons, Alex Jones, site called, Infowars, Bill Cooper's sites, and just follow these sites on the net. I think you will find some amazing truths. Don't just blindly believe what people tell you. Satanist are definitely NOT atheists.

Satan isn't really a person per say or the caricature you see on TV and the movies. It is the moment of human weakness when we give into a temptation even though we know better. The little voice in your head that says "Go ahead; you won't get caught". To be selfish and uncaring. Sane people who do evil deeds need to justify their actions. "I was just following orders", "Weaklings deserve to be taken advantage of."- You see?
There's an old expression:
"What goes around comes around."
Believe what you want but don't slip into the assumption that they're won't be any consequences to your actions.

Satan was an angel of God's that was cast out of Heaven for rebelling against God. I don't know if that qualifies him as a real "person" in that I'm not sure angels are people. I do know that he is not an abstract quality/being.

ABC now there is an Expert source for you. Hey a few years back ABC stated that an aborted fetus did not feel pain, despite Medical Evidence to the contrary. ABC also supported in some of its programming the dissolution of the United Stats in favor of a Global Government. In short if ABC is your source of truth I feel sorry for you. There was a magazine years ago called "LIFE" it ran an article stating on the cover "GOD IS DEAD". IN a few short issues the Magazine itself folded up, so LIFE was dead and God is very much ALIVE!

Satan comes from certain Christian interpretations and depictions of a figure from Jewish beliefs. Satan, as the Devil, is a part of Christian beliefs. Telling Christians that a figure from their belief-set does not exist, simply because you do not worship him, is the same as Christians telling you that your deity doesn't exist, simply because they do not worship him/her.
There's a whole lot of untruths being told about Satan, sure, but let's not add another one in there too, when we're looking to get rid of some of the sillier claims.

Satanists are NOT atheists! An atheist believes in NO higher power of any kind, does not worship Yahweh, Zeus, Jesus, Mithra, Isis, the devil, angels, or any other imaginary, invisible beings. If somebody worships Satan as a literal being that actually exists, then they are hardly an atheist, now are they?
