I'm going on a limb here and say it really depends on what color your suit is. Although most people don't have a lighter colored suit, like light brown/caramel or even white suits, I'm assuming you're wearing any dark colored (navy/black) suit.
Your choice of watch is personal and reflects your character - if you aren't very senior at your firm, don't purchase just any watch with a silver strap b/c it just looks cheap (depending on your budget). I like a lot of Diesel watches.. they have a great selection: http://store.dieseltimeframes.com/. Guys don't usually wear too much jewerly/accessories, so the only thing a guys got for sure is a watch so get something that will last you for life and for most occasions - analog/chrono with dark color strap leather or not.
My guideline is that your watch should complement your suit, it shouldn't be flashy as if it's eye catching all the time - dark color - blue/brown/black straps - I prefer leather: http://store.dieseltimeframes.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=39985&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=330&iSubCat=2121&iProductID=39985.
If you want a strap that is funkier, nothing more than this: http://store.dieseltimeframes.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=30209&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=330&iSubCat=2123&iProductID=30209.
As for the digital watches: http://store.dieseltimeframes.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=37028&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=330&iSubCat=2122&iProductID=37028.
Digital watches are fine especially if you are younger, but analog should always trump it.
Most of these watches so far have faces that are square, which is acceptable. For more of a classic look, go for the circular watchfaces: http://store.dieseltimeframes.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=19069&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=330&iSubCat=2123&iProductID=19069.
Have fun shopping.

It depends on what type of job you work in/are interviewing for. If you are just business/law/tech then a simple stainless steel watch like this: http://www.johnlewis.com/jl_assets/product/230401922.jpg
Should be fine. If you are working in the art or fashion industry, you might want something more trendy.
In general though, for a suit, I would avoid anything but metal straps. No leather or cloth straps. Just go with a simple metal band and analog face. Nothing that beeps either.

You know what I think is classier than a wristwatch, is a pocket watch with a gold chain draped out of the pocket to the loop

No leather straps. No sporty watch. Too much fuss will distract or clash. A simple metallic watch is the easiest and most versatile just pick the same coloured metal as any worn jewelery ;)

It's up to you... but don't wear one with a leather band. A stainless/gold combo with a clear face is always acceptable.

go for a plain but cassic watch dont get digital they can look casual http://www.airwatches.com/thumbs/seiko_seiko_men_s_watches_-_sgea99.jpg just as an example and you can get them quite cheap at places like ASDA where they look expensive but they're not .

You can't go wrong with plain and expensive. Stay within your budget though. Stay away from digital!
