Christians, why is it so hard to believe that all of life came from in-organic matter (protiens and what not in the primordial soup) but yet Genesis says that God made Man out of dirt...what's the difference? Gods holy word? Well then who's to say that God did not implement the Big Bang and the creation of all life from in-organic matter then? Same question for Athesits, and please no "sky fairy" thing...I want logical answers from everybody, or at least semi-logical if people (Christians or Atheists) can't do normal logic...now...let this fun little debate begin...

Ok..as for Sheila, the reason why I'm an "Angry Atheist" is because of peoples actions (on both fronts) and because it's a nickname you dope...and I seem to remember that I DID give "God a try." and it wound up me being Atheist *gasp* that's right I was once a Christian and I became Atheist, I guess that puts a stopper in your arguement, and next time you answer a question, answer it, and don't preach to me.

I am neither an Atheist or a Christian but like you said...let the fun begin. You know I think someone almost got the right answer for you. Believers don't like to think they are no more then animals. The hand of God is important to them, it makes them special.

The problem is the non believers all seem to have the same problem. They rant on about God being a myth and yet hang onto science like it is in a way their god. Or maybe it is just something that makes them better then the other animals too.

It all seems to be an argument of ...I'm blessed or I'm brilliant. Personally I have no problems what so ever of the idea of having sprung from the ground like a flipping tree if it will make everyone shut up already. So I came from dust...big deal. So I go back to dust....big deal. It doesn't really matter to me what either side says because I know what I have seen. I know what can be explained and what can not. You want to prove God, find heaven for me. You want to prove there is no God, explain to me(in great detail) what sparks a heart to start beating within the womb.

Neither of you can do it so I say we all just take our toys and go home already. You go play in your sand box and I will go play in mine. Actually I would rather you believers and nons all stay away from my sandbox...I'm starting to think you are both nuts.

And just who made this soup? ( primordial soup ) Did it just happen along and think that earth was a good spot to start out? And if the first organisms begin to live and thrive why would any evolution need to happen?

Every bit of logic points to a Creator, as the very most basic of scientific rules says that nothing can come from nothing.
If the Big Bang occurred, what could have possibly survived that? Organisms can be froze for periods of time and then brought back, but there is no organism that can live though intense heat. At least not the temperatures that would have been present in a Big Bang.

Well, if they give God a part in the Big Bang theory, I won't be opposed to it. (I'm Christian) But the point of the big band theory and all theories for that matter is that they are trying so hard to leave God out of everything. 'God made man.' So they came up with the Evolution thingy. 'God made the heavens and the earth.' Big bang. What are the odds that just a bang would bring about food and water needed for survival. Hell, how would 'the big bang' create life form? I'm a little saddened to know that you converted. Perhaps you felt like God wasn't answering/listening. Or it was the people who go about judging others. Let me tell you that the Bible never told anyone to judge people. When the Pharisees threw a woman caught in adultery at Jesus' feet, He didn't condemn her. So He tells everyone not to. I've asked God if He exists. That was when I was distanced from Him. He didn't answer. Because I was at a place tryna prove him wrong. Whatever He said, I wouldn't have listened. Go👇🏻

"what's the difference?"

Man has attributes such as consciousness, intelligence, the capacity for love, sense of morality, etc. that inorganic matter doesn't. The theist at least believes they received them from a source that possesses them as well; the atheist must choose from two (at least the only two I've seen) less likely options: they are illusory or they somehow arose from matter that has none of these properties.

"Well then who's to say that God did not implement the Big Bang and the creation of all life from in-organic matter then?"
I don't believe there's anything that could have stopped Him from doing so if He so chose to do so. But out of the multitude of however many ways He could have possibly done it, He apparently chose the one recorded in the bible. Or at least that is what I believe.

Nobody is disputing on what life is made of. Yes, and if your a Christian, Gods word is all it takes.

There is no evidence other than a theory on the "big bang", same as evolution as far as that goes. All the atheists seem to believe evolution, but can not give proof. (if you can find proof, then present it, no person in history has been able to, everything has been refuted by secular science) So if you have proof, now is the time for you to become famous. There could be a reason the "missing link" hasn't been found. Because I believe it doesn't exist.

At least with my Bible, (what I believe) I can stand on Gods word. (to me, this gives me comfort) You do not have to believe this and that is your right. Just as it is your right to believe in evolution.

I have written accounts of Jesus Christ by both non-believers and believers alike. Now you will say, no one wrote of Him at the time. The best answer I have for that (and yes, I have researched it) is that at the time of Christ, he was "poor", he wasn't a influential political figure of Rome, he was just a blip in time. Just like today, if someone is amazing, we usually do not even hear or read about it untill they are gone. But yet the writings are from people who were alive at the time of Christ, like I said, both Believers and Non-believers. At least that is proof. So that is what I put my belief in.

But, that is my right to believe that, as it is your right to believe in the big bang theory, evolution ect.....

The Iroquois account of demiurge is that in the beginning there was no earth to live on, only a watery abyss, but up above, in the Great Blue, there was a community called the Sky World including a woman who dreamed dreams.

One night she dreamed about the tree that was the source of light. The dream frightened her, so she went and asked the men in the Sky World to pull up the tree. They dug around the trees roots to make space for more light, and the tree fell through the hole and disappeared. After that there was only darkness. Distraught, they pushed the woman through the hole as well. The woman would have been lost in the abyss had not a fish hawk come to her aid using his feathers to pillow her.

The fish hawk could not keep her up all on his own, so he asked for help to create some firm ground for the woman to rest upon. A helldiver went down to the bottom of the sea and brought back mud in his beak. He found a turtle, smeared the mud onto its back, and dove down again for more. Ducks also brought beaksful of the ocean floor and to spread over the turtle's shell. The beavers helped build terrain, making the shell bigger. The birds and the animals built the continents until they had made the whole round earth, while the woman was safely sitting on the turtle's back. The turtle continues to hold the earth on its back.

After this, one of the Spirits of the Sky World came down and looked at the earth. As he traveled over it, he found it beautiful, and so he created people to live on it and gave them special skills; each tribe of the Iroquois nation was given special gifts to share with the rest of humanity.

We have many more!
Just because theirs is written in an old book and ours have been handed down orally for generations, doesn't make theirs any more REAL than ours!
As a Atheist, I would hope that you would understand this.
BTW most cultures don't take their creation stories literally!

Hey! You're not an angry atheist at all!

Dude, i don't have difficulty accepting that all of life came from in-organic matter, nobody is sure exactly how life originated, still, all indicates that it did came from the "primordial soup". I completely agree with your question. I believe God used those beautiful and complex phenomenon to give life the aspect that it has today.

The Bible says God created everything within six days. If he used the Big Bang, then it would be hundreds of millions of years before planets formed.
Q.E.D.

And of course the counterargument would be that you're not meant to take that part of the Bible literally. But the people to whom God supposedly related this story took it very literally indeed. Surely an omniscient being would be well aware of how his words would be interpreted, so either God deliberately lied to his people or the whole thing's bullshit.

Evolution of the universe including the earth is the physical history of God's highly advanced scientific knowledge of creating life over the coarse of billions and billions of years not the six 24 hour days mankind thinks it is mentioned in the Bible. Which is only 1 of many misinterpretations mankind will learn it's made concerning interpreting ancient manuscripts from the scientific knowledge of a "Intelligent Designer" we call "God". (The score is now: God 1, atheists and all religions 0).
