I am still trying to pick my jaw up from the ground.

They did say they were from Creekview Baptist Church, I guess I just assumed they were baptist.

If its true call the pastor of the church to explain what happened. The pastor needs to know that he has some over zealous members, they need to take a class on evangelism, it would not include,Your going to hell, in the lesson.

a) Contact authorities. Now, if someone politely walked up to your door and requested a word with you, at which point they described something you did that they found offensive, I'd be annoyed, and a bit confused, but I wouldn't feel assaulted. On the other hand, it sounds as if these men were harassing you, and causing a disruption in your life. Therefore, you've every right to call local police about the matter.

b) Try to forget about it. It's not your fault. Just keep your baby calm; the commotion can be qutie upsetting. Also, if I were you, I'd make sure my house was fully secure. I don't mean to be rash here, but this sounds a bit creepy--just in case they return, try to always ensure that your doors are locked, windows closed, etc.

c) Depending on your area, you might call a church they may belong to. If your area is a small community, it may help to find out what the hell the men thought they were doing. If you can identify them, it is possible that a religious figure at there church may help the three of you (possibly a spouse or good friend, as well, on your part) to sort things out. However, I'd only do this if you're certain they're Baptists.

d) It seems you've done nothing wrong. Aside from ensuring your safety, and the safety of your child, I don't think there's anything you really need to do, unless you are concerned, and would like to take action.

And all in all, don't worry. I'm atheist, but I doubt that, even from a religious perspective, you'd be going to Hell. Either way, in the religious viewpoint, that is God's decision; the opinions of those men will not affect what happens after your death.

EDIT: If they confirmed their church; it is certainly right to presume they are Baptist. Since you are aware of the church, if I were you, I'd contact the church office, and try to set up a meeting, if possible with the head religious figure, and the two men, if they can be identified. You might want to bring a spouse or good friend for moral support.

Of course, if this issue isn't a problem for you, you don't need to worry about official resolution. However, I'd be quite bothered if in your position, and therefore I'd seek action.

You're better off believing that there is no heaven or hell... don't think, heaven is all that, there is quite a whole lot of boredom waiting for you if you end up in either heaven or hell... imagine spending billions of years there... 100 years in earth is boring enough! So why did Your God created Heaven and Hell when the people will be punished by ending up forever there bored? Who cares about suffering... once you're there long enough you'll eventually get used to it...

Nobody has the right to tell whose going to hell or heaven. Not a priest, not a missionary, and I don't think even the pope can decide such a thing. There's only one person who has that kind of judicial power and we all know who it is.

Gidgit, I'm sorry to read your story of this. These men had nothing to do with religion or truth of any spiritual manner whatsoever. How could you possibly think you'd be " going to hell" for responding as you did? I'm truly glad that you're both ok.

Either you didn't hear them correctly, like maybe they said something like "You don't want to go to Hell do you?" or they were zealots who were walking according to their flesh and not according to the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 5:17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

There are some Christians that get a little too excited about their faith. I openly admit that it is a struggle not to be one. The gift that God gives is exciting enough that you want to scream it from the rooftops! The feeling of peace that you get is indescribable. Nothing on Earth is as freeing as faith in Jesus Christ.

The Baptists that came to your door had good intentions at first, but they got a little too excited.

At times, we tend to get a little excited about our faith. Sometimes we say things that we don't mean.

You won't go to hell in less you die without accepting Christ as your lord and savior. The decision is yours and yours alone. Slamming the door in the face of Christians is NOT what condemns you. It is your sin that will.
