Remember, the more educated a person is, the less likely they are to believe in a literal interpretation of the bible. Therefore, science leads people from heaven to hell.

Are YOU doing enough to slow down the progress of science, and make other people thing it's false? (all the while enjoying its fruits, of course)

Americans have taken it a step further. The American government that is chock full of religious nut cases, are just dumbing down the entire country through the mis-education system. After all the education system is not designed around education. It is training not to question anything, just follow right along as the sheeple you are mentality. Do not question the Government. Do not question religion. It is really pathetic.

Well, lucky for everybody that believing in a totally literal interpretation of the Bible doesn't get anyone to heaven or hell (at least according to Christianity).

I'm a biologist and a Christian and I'm doing everything i can to boost the progress of science (and I'm certainly not payed enough for it).

Not only that, I'm struggling for people to see how much science and religion need to walk side by side in order for us to have a better understanding of the world and better lives.

The depth of understanding of the human mind that this
question reveals makes me wonder why people like you can even breathe. You are so narrow minded as to believe that your ideas are the ONLY CORRECT ONES, and that all
other ideas are False, and people are against you. You really
should crawl under a pile of leaves and hide like a worm.

Freedom of thought and Freedom of Religion (What Ever It Is) are the basic tenants of the United States of America. If you don't wish to enjoy these freedoms, go somewhere else.
Your overzealous comments regarding what others may think are so shallow and devoid of useful purpose, I am amazed that you can talk.

You're not being accurate. The more educated a person is in FALSE scientific conclusions and theories, the less likely they are to believe in a literal interpretation of the bible. However, when a person is willing to look at ALL the scientific data, and not simply ignore much of the science that debunks theories like evolution, or the old earth idea, then they find that it is ok to take a literal interpretation of the bible, because the science, that is ALL the science, supports a literal interpretation.

Get a clue.

They have done plenty of damage in Kansas. The board of education there has changed the definition of science to try to make the Bible seem scientific.

Sad isn't it?

Christianity especially American Christianity does not engaged in a "fight" against science.

Lets start with science, a term that comes from the Greek to know. Science has the scientific method that creates scientific theories that explains scientific facts. A scientific fact is an observation by man independent of location.

Christianity is based on bible, a set of books (actually scrolls) where God reveals Himself to man. There is no observation involved, so there is no science. Applying scientific method to revelation is foolish since it is God who reveals not man who observes.

There is no progress in science, just more theories that explains facts. It is these theories that allow man to make "progress" (better use of the resources).

It is quite clear in Genesis 1;1 that God existed before He created everything that man can observe.

Answer: God reveals, man observes. Stop treating the bible as a science book and focus on God not man.

If science is that evil, why are they on Yahoo Answers? Last I checked, you need a computer to access this place, and computers are about as scientific as you can get.

All kidding aside, I don't think all Christians think science is evil. If they did, we'd have a lot more people living the 'Amish' lifestyle.

Friend, you never have saw any of my answers saying that science is leading us from heaven to hell, I have said the more science try to disprove God the more they really prove him because I do watch these TV station about science, Science has it's place, but when Science tries to leave God out, then I will draw the line. Ask yourself, who gave science that knowledge, God did.

this one hopes that such a posting is intended to be humorous, although it is not.

This one hopes that others, by reading this, are not read to believe that they should actually do anything to slow down or undermine the advances of science.

The world does not need more ignorance and sutpidity.

May it all be well with you.
