A program called "GrooveMonitor.exe" is running in the background. It is NOT malicious as far as I can tell, but it adds options for file sync to my right click, which I just really don't need. I want the CPU usage freed up, but the prog is not on my Add/Remove list ; how to I uninstall?

I'm not sure if you can completely remove the groove monitor since it is bundled in ms office 2007 but you can stop it from starting when you start windows.

Start>Run>type in MSCONFIG>Startup tab - uncheck any reference to "groovemonitor" then reboot

You can also disable the groove monitor and stop it from running in the background by running msconfig

Start - Run - ype in MSCONFIG - Startup tab - uncheck the Groove Monitor and any other program that you don't want to start when you start windows.

There is a free program called Startup Inspector for Windows that will also disable Startup Programs as well as uninstall many programs that Windows otherwise will not. You can download it at:

Its another scam from Microsoft and the Eugenics King Bill Gates. Remember he wants world population below 500,000,000. Check Georgia Guidestones. He will sterilize the population using vaccines, Gates is dangerous, he supports the NWO and Rothchild, Soros, Bilderberg, indoctrinating children using this common core crap. Enough ! Let the people rise up and wipe out the powermongers before they wipe out the sheep.

I suggest you work in Safe Mode.

WindowsXP Safe Mode
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/ss/safemodexp.htm

Press F8 Before the Windows XP Splash Screen
Starting your computer in Windows XP Safe Mode can help you diagnose and solve many serious problems, especially when starting normally is not possible.
To begin entering Windows XP Safe Mode, turn your PC on or restart it.
Just before the Windows XP splash screen shown above appears, press the F8 key to enter the Windows Advanced Options Menu. (I press and hold F8 until I get the black and white menu with the option for Safe Mode.)
The source link is an excellent one. Fully describes the procedure with screen shots.

If successful, you might want to run a full system scan.

Note: when you exit Safe Mode, your icons will probably have been moved. Just drag them back.
