I read about it in one of my technology magazines and can't remember enough about it to do a decent search for it. Anyone else know where I can find the adapters for this?

It screws into the lighbulb outlet then the lightbulb screws into it.

I think that you're speaking about the Screw-In Motion Sensor Switch. It's a device that you you simply unscrew existing light bulb, screw the sensor in position, and screw the light bulb into it. Automatically turns the light bulb on when motion is sensed and turns it off 4 minutes after motion stops. Perfect for closets, basements, garages, etc. (for indoor use only). Measures 3" in diameter and 4" long. The motion sensor switch can be used with 25W to 100W bulbs. You can get it online at smarthome.com and some Home Depots.

In our basement laundry room, I replaced the light with a motion sensor fixture, like you see on garages or houses. It was great, and cheap (less than $15) and was better than the single bulb pull chain fixture we had...it came on automaticly, turned off automaticly, and had 2 sockets that I could twist to dorect the light anywhere in the room.
Easy solution.
What you're looking for can be purcased at most hardware/home improvement stores and in the hardware department of most Walmarts and Targets.

You might do a bit of comparison shopping. X10 (on the Internet) has reasonable priced things like this. I have some to light a dark hallway from either end, ring a chime when someone approaches the house, and a few other things.

home depot has this. Just go to the lighting section and they have a wide variety of options. You can purchase a whole lighting unit or just things for the individual bulbs....but it needs to be somewhat in the open as to detect motion. If it is for outside you can buy motion detection lights OR dusk to dawn lights. Just ask for motion detection indoor lighting or describe what you are looking for and they can direct you to the proper section.
