They generalized so they could fit almost anybody's day. Read through a bunch of them and you'll see your day reflected back in all or most of them.

I was amazed when my Physics Professor gave us a complicated calulation that proves when a person is born, Jupiter has a greater gravitational effect on the infant than the Dr. standing just one meter away from it!
I have found that the personality outlines that ones zodiac provides are fairly accurate. Birth chart done by a professional are more accurate, and if you add in a numerology chart, you will get the full scope.
As far as the Chinese Zodiacs, I'm not as familiar with them. But the Dragon that I was born under does fit me like a glove!

I don't believe in forecasts but I do believe in characteristics for both the general horoscopes and the Chinese. I think they are very true for most people.

Dawkins tells a delightful tale about horoscopes. A young man was appointed horoscope editor of a newspaper. He went through a number of newspapers and magazines looking for horoscopes, cut up the predictions, and put them into a hat. For each day's edition, he would draw a dozen at random, and print them. Several readers complimented him for his prescience.

Do you ever watch Criss Angel - Mindfreak? He did a show on "Suckers" showing scams so people won't be taken in. He used horoscopes cut out from different magazines and put them on tarot cards. He gave the same EXACT reading to all the people who came to him and most people felt he knew them personally. He explained afterward what he did to them and gave their money back. The readings are general enough that your mind connects them to your own experiences. No one wants to believe they are gullible, but people who believe these things really are.

God Bless.

They are no more than generalizations that come true for some. One time I read one that said I would meet someone for a romatic evening. My wife didn't think so.

Not I. I believe its total BS because theres always the possibility of change, and that alone defies the horoscopes.

horoscopes are balderdash. there are to many generalities to believe in this nonsense. although sometimes they are fun to read, but personally think there is little a planet or planets can do to affect my life.

Here's what the I Ching says about Chinese horoscopes:

Consultation on Saturday, August 04, 2007 at 7:57 AM.

Present: 50 The Cauldron

Question: What about Chinese horoscopes?

The cauldron symbolizes nourishment and rejuvenation. Sooner or later, good comes to those who do good; joy comes to those who bring humor to others; opportunity comes to those who persist in their dreams. Rejuvenation is a returning to innate desires - and a re-charging of batteries through the fulfillment of these wishes. This reading suggests nourishment and transformation for people of goodwill. Great good fortune and success are indicated.

Healthy, regular sustenance is important, as symbolized by the cooking pot, which provides nourishment to all. When the cycle of humanity reaches its apex, each person's sustenance comes in the form of his or her deepest needs and desires.

Rejuvenation simply means that men and women of talent and insight are being properly nourished and valued. When society is functioning properly, such people are supported, and encouraged to contribute to their best abilities. A fresh approach to old habits is indicated in a period of rejuvenation. Look for ways of putting new life in old forms; for only when great vitality is present, can breakthroughs be achieved.

You cast several changing lines, which indicates a number of changing possibilities in the situation.

The first changing line is Line 2:

You are confident, and may well be able to secure some measure of prosperity in the near future. You may experience some envy and mistrust from others in the process, but that is their problem. This is your moment, the time for you to achieve something. There is no real danger. Limit your attention to the challenges - and opportunities - in front of you right now.

The second changing line is Line 3:

You are impeded in your progress. Resources are being wasted; perhaps your talents are not being recognized. But if you meet difficulties with a good attitude, they will be overcome. You may be confronted with obstacles, perhaps even loss, but good fortune comes in the end to those whose inner identities are solid.

The third changing line is Line 5:

Modest people often find many helpers, particularly if their humility is coupled with true ability. Good fortune comes to those who can combine great talents with mild temperament.

The fourth changing line is Line 6:

Wisdom is transmitted from the sage to the worthy disciple. Remain open to wisdom; it is as real as the wind, and its sources just about as predictable.

Future: 45 Gathering Together

This hexagram represents the quality of likely opportunities and challenges arising from changes that are in process now:

The power of gathering together is represented by a rally, where each individual's strength is magnified by the power of the community as a whole. History has shown that mass movements can bring about stable, ordered and durable conditions for the better. This reading may be pointing to an auspicious time for large undertakings. But the guiding force of a shared vision is essential to hold the forces of unity together, and keep them advancing toward a common goal.

Another image for this situation is that of a lake filling with water. Just as the fullness of the lake can bring good fortune to all in its sphere, it can also overflow, leading to calamity. Thus in a time of gathering together it is essential that precautions against unforeseen danger be considered along with efforts to advance along a clearly-charted course. Much of human misfortune comes from unexpected events for which we are ill prepared; when gathered together with others, we are both more powerful and, in some ways, more vulnerable.

Any time of unity is a time of potential greatness. But that greatness can be both positive and negative. Everything is magnified when masses of people unite for a single purpose. When many people unite behind a single goal or strong vision, it is wise to take personal precautions, and to protect your own reasonable self-interests, because these can easily be lost in the crowd.
