As funny as this question sounds, I've heard that he/she is not a clairvoyant like the media has made him/her to be. instead he/she is supposed to be someone who knows the years of people's deaths or something wierd. Has anyone else heard this?

I also have two more questions:

Is there only one seer at a time?

From the sound of everyone's answers, it sounds like a/the seer is psychic... so what's the difference?

Seer = One who Sees. A See-er.

A True See'r is one that acts like a mirror so others can look in and observe their true selves.
The seer is filled with Divine Luminous Wisdom, and knows each persons heart!
There is one seer that oversees all other seers!
There can be several at one time, of varying degrees.

For those truly concerned, they should research the word "Qutbiyyat".

A seer is more or less someone who receives visions of sorts of the past, present, and/or future. Their purpose is to receive and relay messages and warnings for people to do with as they see fit once they receive their message. Most don't bother for lack of understanding or belief.

It should be understood they do not belong to any one religion though some may attribute it to a specific one. It should also be understood that they don't see everything and there is plenty of room for misinterpretation of what they see, as well as misunderstanding of what they are trying to say.

Unfortunately there are many who claim such an ability that don't have it, usually either for attention or greed.
