I'm just wondering, i think i'm about a 9 and decreasing (i hope) but what do you think about yourself?

Knowing is the first step to managing your illness. I'm probably a 1, measuring "grip on reality," rather than being anal retentive and obsessive compulsive, which I am and I use to my advantage. I wouldn't want a surgical nurse (or surgeon for that matter) that wasn't a little AR/OC. It makes us treat each and every patient with the same high-level of care.

Wait a minute now, you said 10 is the worst and you are a 9???!!!! Unless you are just exaggerating or playing with us, you should be institutionalized. Seriously. If 10 is the worst=Bi-polar schitzo and what not, then 9 is still a pretty deep level. Have you ever seen real mentally ill folks? Poor people. I'm not starting a fight with you or anything.
Anyway, in all honesty, I'm giving myself a 5.5 and rising fast! I actually do think I need to be seeing someone and taking meds, even though I'm strongly against the liberal use of meds for everyday mental problems. (work stress, financial stress, self image stress, etc.).
You just prompted me to ask a question myself.

I don't think you are a 9. If you were a 9 you would be in a mental institution and not sitting at a computer typing in your question. You wouldn't even know how to type or use a computer. You would be sitting in a corner, rocking back and forth, humming to yourself, and not even realize there is something wrong with you.

Although I am absolutely frustrated with the illness and issues I deal with, honestly I'm probably only a 4. There are a lot worse things that I could be going through.
