No. There's rumor of "Dox", but from what I've heard it's not possible.

A fox has 17 pair of chromosomes, and a dog has 39 pair.
It is only when animals have the same number of pairs (like a donkey and a horse) that they can successfully breed.

Fox:
Kingdom: Animalia

Phylum: Chordata

Class: Mammalia

Order: Carnivora

Family: Canidae

Tribe: Vulpini

AKA: Yes, its a dog. However, it WILL NOT breed with your domestic dog. there too far apart. Even if they did breed, if there were pups involved they would die. Sorry, but its true.

The reason a wolf and husky can breed is becuase a husky is soooo close to the wolf. In 1000 years they wont breed anymore. Its just the way it is.

No, two different species. Fox are more closely related to cats than dogs.

Dogs and foxes are not interbreedable because a fox is not a dog.
A dog is genus: Canis species: C. lupus subspecies: C. l. familiaris. A fox is genus vulpes, not canis.

they are related but it's not a good idea to breed the 2. mainly bcse if you take something wild and something domestic you can't predict the health or disposition of the pups.
keep the wild wild and your pets domestic...
