they are the same bed
twin size is smaller
full size/double is the next larger in width
queen is even larger than double/full
king is larger than that.
there are also beds that come in longer length which would have a seperate name or be defined with the longer length which is usually 5 inches longer

XL twin is 39 x 80 inches
Double or full is 54 x72 or 76 inches
Queen is 60 x 80 inches
King is 84 x 80 inches

Double and full are the same.... 54 inches wide. The next up is Queen size at 60 inches wide and King is 78 inches. A california king is 78 inches wide.
