Honestly I have never had an Atheist knock on my front door, but I have had conversations with many in places like bars, concerts, and book stores. The conversations normally start with them seeing jewelry and saying they don't believe in god. My conversation with them is no different then the conversations I have with the nice Jesus people that do knock on my front door. I normally just step outside. Ask them if they would like to stay and have a talk. We sit on the porch and talk about what I think and what they think and ....big shocker ...it never leads anywhere. They don't change my mind. I don't changer theirs. But at least we had a nice talk and a good day. As long as no one trys to tell the other person they are wrong or stupid it is always just a conversation....and that goes for both the Atheists, the Jesus folk, and a nice little Indian lady that knocked on my door one day.

** side note** I find all the people that have left nasty comments rather sad. The whole "Christians are the annoying ones" and "An Atheist would never do that" ....really it's sad. You are both doing what you ridicule the other for.

Blessed Be

Well, I certainly wouldn't stand there ridiculing the guy; that would be totally unacceptable.
Of course, i also wouldn't let him in for safety of my children (no, not because he's athiest - because he's a stranger.
I would tell him that he's knocked on the door of a household that loves God, serves
God, worships God, appreciates God,
is protected by God, and that he has to, like all the rest of us, sail his own ship.
If he wants to sail his straight to hell thats his business, but the cruise plan for mine is already established, and to have a nice day. Then I'd annoint my door as instructed, with the oil of our people, in the name of Jesus Christ. God only knows what characters he's got roaming around along with him. There's not an evil spirit behind every bush, but for sure if you open your door to a person of questionable character,
you've also opened your door to whatever
spirits they have abiding within them. Time
to clean up the doorway.

Tell them I am not interested just as I do religious people at the door..

I am Atheist.. that doesn't mean I want to stand on the porch and discuss it with someone I have things to do..

I regularly have one Atheist on my porch he loves to ring the doorbell and say "Hello my name is Andrew Would you like to learn more about the FSM?." I usually shut the door on him... He just opens it and comes in and says "All I want is some spaghetti, Mom.. Where's Gen?" Andrew is my daughter friend he has a very twisted sense of humor... I really need to buy a can of Spaghetti and have it ready so I can hand it to him before I shut the door he would really get a kick out of that.. LOL

Cool question. I had the opportunity to look at most of the answers before I decided to answer too, and it looks like you hit a nerve with the atheists! Wow, what a angry mob! Personally I would just say thanks for the info and go back to punching the keys on this board. I would not think too much of it or dwell on it's irony. I know what I know, they know what they think they know. I would be happy that they feel so strongly about the subject that they felt the need to come and talk to me personally. That shows a sense of love for your fellow man! Whether they are wrong or not!

Invite him or her in and listen, then hope he or she would show me the same respect.

Christian's are suppose to be kind to everyone. Telling someone of your faith and why you believe what you believe should not be offensive to anyone.

When some get offended, it should be because the written word is convicting ones heart and understanding, this helps with Patience and compassion, this helps with growing in maturity.

This should not be confused with judging nor condemning.
If your friend was being betrayed by another lying to him or her, would you tell your friend and prepare him or her for what is about to happen to them, or would you just keep silent and let your friend fall into a deceptive lie and suffer for your choice to be silent?

The best answer here, would be honesty.

I have never yet told a religious person to get off my property, I have told some JW that I don't believe their way, But I never have told them to get off my land, that will be the same with a athiests or muslim, I will not run them off, but if they only come to try to change me to their ideals, I will let anyone of them know they are 37 yrs too late to change from from What I know about God, I will give them equal time to talk if they also gave me equal time to talk, & then if they try to over run thier time frame of talking, I still won't run them off, I will just get up & go inside my house, In due time they will get tired in speaking to no one. But when it comes to me inviting them into my home, The bible says forbid them not God's speed. Which means to say God bless you, Why should I say God bless you when they are portraying a false teaching, God will not bless something that is false, So who am I to try to bless someone that God have cursed. I hope you see my point.

Probably the same thing I do when the Mormons & the Jehova Witnesses come a knockin'. Slam the door in their face after telling them to get lost. I'm not hating on any religion, but come on, I am at home, I do not want to deal with strangers no matter what the message is.

I will bring him a cup of coffee which was made by no one, I will show him my home which was built by nature, I will invite him to a restaurant were pizza is done by evolution.
I will show him my little brother who always ask about the moon the sun and who made them..

could he think of my quiz and solve it....
if he trusted me in all what I said above then he is violating logic..
and if he was not convinced, then why does he insist that there is no one who made the world around?

I would say "No thank you, come back next time...NOT!!". LOL

Nah, I think Atheists don't do that. They don't go around knocking people's doors by asking these kind of questions.

I think I would tell them that this was a refreshing change from the nuts and fruitcakes who usually come calling and invite them in and have an interesting converstion with them.
