Well most places will have a hourly rate and usually will buy the materials for extra. So just a guesstimate I would say about 4000.

You didn't say where you live - it makes a difference. Assuming you want a quality job consult Angie's List or local equivalent and get at least three estimates. Good painters aren't cheap. The best will always use absolutely clean drop cloths and uniforms, will do a lot of preparation (repairs, etc.) before they begin, will probably prep the walls before painting, and will apply two coats of paint. You should pick your colors well in advance - get advice. You can also pick the brand of paint (consult Consumers Reports) but the painter may have a favorite, or be able to get better prices than you can.

All these things will factor into what you will pay. As I said, if you want quality work expect to pay for it.

We had our entire interior painted last year (3300 sq. ft. with two story great room and foyer). The quotes included everything...walls, trim, ceilings, doors and all rooms including baths, closets, etc. We paid $9500 and it took 11 days. All quotes were roughly the same but we chose the one we did because most of the people in our neighborhood had used and recommended them.

With 9' ceilings I'am guessing you have a very old home. Before you have anyone paint the inside please look at this.
