there are 3 stages to a cold. !st stage is when you feel a bit run down may have a scratchy throat but no real active symptoms.Stage 2 is when you have the active symptoms of a cold (stuffy nose, excess phlegm, fever, sneezing, sore throat etc) and stage three is when you start to recover, the symptoms may still exist but less sever and no fever. From stage 1-3 it is likely to last 10 to 14 days. Any longer and you will need to be seen to make sure you do not have a secondary infection. Hope you feel better soon. And remember you are most infectious during stage 1.

Stage One: Tingling sensation over your whole body
Stage Two: Sniffling
Stage Three: Scratchy throat, caused by that sniffling
Stage Four: Increasing coughing and headache
Stage Five: Flull blown cold
Stage Six: Nose dries out
Stage Seven: This takes the longest, the throat still sore.
Stage Eight: Remnants of sore throat gradually fades away.
