i get this sharp pain in my heart for a couple seconds..i get it every couple months or who knows...
i dont know what it is.maybe its normal.but i do play sports as well..
it feels as if im getting stabbed.when it happens i automatically just put my hand their.any help...

are you in your teens or early 20s? If so, this is very common and nothing to worry about. Almost everyone gets those pains at that age. It may be related to growth, and/or muscles getting "pinched" in the ribs.
As long as the pain is not accompanied by dizziness, shortness of breath, or other symptoms, you are more than likely just fine, and the episodes lessen as you get older.

Two Questions: How old are you? and what type of sports? It could be overexertion but if your over 30 years of age I'd recommend you talk to a Dr. I'd talk to a Dr anyway as sharp chest pain is your body telling you something is not right and the sooner you resolve it the better.

It might be chest wall pain or it might be something more serious. You need to see a physician. Make sure you bring a list of your symptoms with you and when you get them. That will help the doctor determine the cause.

I would have it checked out at the Dr. It could be the warning sign of Angina a treatable heart condition. My Aunt had it and took pills for it.
