And I am 32 years old, and not having premarital sex is really bothering me, especially when I know other people are doing it. What should I do?

I also don't think I am going to get married to any one soon either.

I can see why they think a certain way about coffee, alcohol, smoking, premarital sex.
I just don't like going to church every Sunday, to basically hear the same thing over and over again.
I don't hate them but I just don't know if I belong there or not.

It is a place to meet girls but unless you believe that stuff, or go along with them, then you just feel like your lying to yourself or them.

I wasn't trying to just meet girls, as much as I was trying to find a group of understanding people to associate with.

Well lust is a part of our nature unless you are physically blind. There are people in the adult film business that lust all the time.

I have talked with regular Christians, Catholics, Lutherans, Jehovah's Witnesses, and they seem to say the same thing about Mormons. So I don't know who to believe.

I also don't need someone telling me something that they don't also follow, i.e. being hypocritical.

Hey buddy
I was raised in the Catholic Church until I was 16 and then walked away from it. I spent the next eighteen years "in the wilderness" before I was touched by God. I spent the next FIVE YEARS in celibacy before I married my wife. (We met through email half a world away). She was a virgin and I was a born-again virgin (so to speak). We have now been married over seven years and we have the most gorgeous and wonderful child (...and a few more to come).
Know this:
1) Mormonism is NOT Christianity in spite of what they claim. Their history states otherwise.
2) Celibacy can be achieved. It's not THAT hard.
3) What other people are doing is none of your business. You 'should' be concentrating on the relationship between you and God. Remember the statement Jesus made about the speck in your brother's eye? (Matthew 7:3-4)
Do this:l
Find another Church. While most denominations claim this and that that, ... Paul said that there would be many ministries (denominations) but only one Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:5) "Most" of these denominations are good and correct, it's just that they have a different slant on things. Just watch out for some of the dingbat rules and regulations...
Find Jesus, The Christ.
May God bless you muchly!!! [:o)
Just out of curiosity... why is there no cross/crucifix on/in any mormon temple? Is it because they do NOT believe in Jesus the Christ?
'nuff said.

Is your problem what to believe or permission to have sex. So you want a religion that allows premarital sex but bans drinking and coffee. NOt likely to find it. This situation isn't unusual. The sex drive is usually pretty strong. US catholics practice birth control and have abortions and get divorced. When really critical things like that interfere with the formalized teachings - many just ignore it. So that leaves no good choices. Some just decide to think of formalized religion and the bible as guidelines and life their life as best as they can.

To tell you the truth in my church we have a cell group (a small group of people building relationships, liek in the book of acts, they met in peopls houses, in small groups) of men that meet (if they are willing to admit they have a problem with porno) and they talk about their problem with lust and porno, most of them are married. They go to church, and do the regular stuff that christian men do, but they just sneak around tryign to look at porno all the time, so these men have to get accountability partners (guys freed from porno addiction) and software put on their computers to keep them from going to these sites. Some of them can't even go to a gas satation where they sell those bad magazines..
anyways my point is you have to find a church that you like and has a program something that will suit you, either you have a lust problem or you just need to do the courting thing "I kissed dating good-bye" by Joshua Harris, this is much better then dating. It helps you to fall in live with the person that God intended you to be with.
1. find the right church and then...
2. God will lead you to the right gal.

You are in term of self believers , do not need to teach by any ,unless you find out you can not lie to your self is key to entrance to true Christianity . Alot of people they lie and then they believe their lie and they live with these lies. This look like man that build his home in sand , soon or late their home will destroyed by small wind .Right now Churches are some organizations to keep people in civilization and what they teach to believe are some story for Little babes .Mormons not only are not Christians but some ideas close to Islamic ideas and they are extremely internationalism people in high level of their Churches,

First and for most I'm sure your intelligent enought to ignore people like TJ and the guy below him. They aren't members of the Church and there for have no room to talk.
If you really want someone to talk to email me. The restored gospel of Christ has helped so many. If you apply the teachings of Christ you'll see a difference in your life. You'll become a better person as time goes on, and with it comes happiness from obeying God's commandments.
Keep your chin up Brother and let not your heart be troubled.

Sounds to me like you joined a group in the hopes of meeting girl not because you believed what the group was about..
Doing this no matter what group you join leads to trouble..
You need to reevaluate your reasons and decide exactly what you believe and act accordingly.. If that means leaving do so, if that means looking for a new group do so, if that means you figure out you agree with your current group after all stay..
Only you can decide for yourself whats right for you... Remember if you do choose to leave a group you can take with you that which you agree with I.E. not smoking, drinking etc. as you mentioned..

Welcome to the church of obsessive compulsion and extreme guilt. As a recent convert, you missed Elder Mark E Peterson's inspired manual on how to stop masturbating and Elder Boyd K Packer's wonderful opus about your "Little Factory" - Both are treatises directly from the High Penishood.
If it weren't for the pressure to have as many children as biologically possible despite dwindling resources and changing environmental challenges, the church would probably require castration as part of the temple ritual.
Get out of this ridiculous and repressive organization (cult) before you become become a mental defect (aka General Authorities).

Don't be a moron! Don't be a Mormon... or Catholic or Evangie or anything at all. Just use your noodle and think for yourself.
If you really need a religious framework to operate in, try the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster ( http://www.venganza.org ) It's as true as any other religion and a hundred times as fun!

Well to begin with, Mormons arent Christian. They deny who Jesus was and accept an invalid testimony of who he is. We are warned many times not to accept false Gospels and beware of false teachers and the Mormons are that.
With that being said, if all you are worried about is wordly things like getting laid and satisfying your sinful nature, then church definately isnt the place for you and God isnt going to save you.
But if you wish to have a shot at Heaven and are insterested in God and his kingdom, he certainly can help you if you start seeking Jesus and rejecting the world.
