Bidets (Japan and Korea have a lot of these). A water stream to wash your bottom. This proved convenient on one trip to Japan where I ate some bad sushi.
Washing, using a hand to wash and then wash the hand. Then washing the hands. Often one hand is reserved for clean things and the other for dirty things.
The English up until the 17th or 18th centure considered **** to be healthy and didn't wash or wipe.
*** licking. That seems how many bosses clean themselves as they keep a lot of *** lickers arounds.

Like vomit cannot be cleaned with just a tp as some scent still remains water is used. I still wonder people eat differently on different days and how the same kind of tp works on everyday and will it serve the job, well, on all days.
But I understand practices differ from place to place.
Heard some use grass, some cloth, some water and some tp ( a quality tp is always better I feel, but additional water to clean the hands is better, that too with some disinfectant.
Hands I heard are major source of infection as they are used for repeated contact with ourselves first, the things we consume and thing and persons we handle and thus we easily communicate our messages as well as Salmonella (Bacteria) ,ringworm through pet faeces etc and the part however unclean is far behind you know to cause so much worry. A good food for thought.
Also better check this out:

Water, some tissue, soap, and hands. It kills all the bacteria, unlike toilet paper.
You don't actually touch the dirt. You remove it by splashing water from a water hose. Unlike using toilet paper, you hand is not too far from the dirt.
After the dirt is removed with water, you can soap, water again, and/or tissue the area.
Better for hygiene/health because it's just like "showering" the area.

Leaves, hands, and/or water.
In days before toilet paper they used to use corn cobs in this country, so I'd imagine that practice may still be going somewhere in the world.

You have these bidet type commodes where water jets out and you wash your butt with your left hand. Or pour water from a mug with your right hand and wash with your left. Asians and Africans do it. The squat type toilets work well for this technique. Yeah, and you pour the water at the back.

Most people in the world use water with their hand to wash the poop off their butt.
Since the majority of the world live in poverty to think they use soap to wash their hand(s) after wards is just wishful thinking.

Different diet means it's not usually so messy anyway. Where the left hand is not used, you'll often find newspaper, cut up into squares, being used.

If there's a tap with hose provided, it means you wash up. If there's no tap, you bring your own toilet paper.
