The idea that we create our own destiny (as promoted in "The Secret" and various New Age philosophies) originated in India.
If it is true then why did the Indians create such a terrible life for themselves with poverty, disease, starving beggars sleeping on the streets etc?
How come it only brings them fame, wealth and success when they sell the idea to Americans? Who are the Americans supposed to sell it to so they too can get rich? Fellow Americans perhaps? Is that why you have a few gurus at the top doing extremely well for themselves and everyone else gets so so results or no result at all?
Also what if the destiny I wanted was the opposite of the destiny you wanted and if I got my wish yours would be cancelled out and if you got your wish mine would be cancelled out - whose destiny would win and be the one that gets created?
On the other hand if our lives are planned out for us, who made the plan and why weren't we given a copy of it so we would know where we were supposed to be and what we were supposed to do?
I think your life is determined partly from the moment to moment decisions you make and you are responsible for the consequences of those decisions - good and bad, and partly from the random events outside your control that happen to you and how you choose to handle or react to those random events.
Finally, you are also affected by the decisions other people make because that often impacts third parties and bystanders who had no say in those decisions althougn I suppose you could say they were part of the random events outside your control that I mentioned earlier.

Well, we didn't create our own lives, so ultimately, no I don't think we can create our destiny. Actually, the word destiny sorta precludes that it's beyond our control.
However, I do believe that our choices can make for a long and drawn out journey to that pinultimate moment, or a quicker and more pleasant trip.

We create our own lives by making choices, but for real, we all have a destiny that is never seeable, and will remain hidden, no one will ever be able to tell the future.

People may plan alot of things but the Lords will is going to be done. The question is are you for Him or against Him?I choose to obey the Holy Spirit the best I know how.I screw up and you got to admit it because if you say you dont sin you are a liar.Jesus said that. And the first saying is in the bible
