It can.
What could be fun and joke for a man may bot be that way at a ll for women.
Specially the above. Men have some funny sense of humor; they think talking about their girl, hep.
Might not mean bad, but say things that men think is fun just like women like to make fun of husbands/bfs. So the other sex do not understand.
Then some people just do not have sense of humor at all. SO then it can break up.something said jokingly, may hurt.
If both partners do not have a sense of humor, it can break up.
Just like you need 2 hands to clap, you need both to make a success.

If you don't think the same things are funny, things could get awkward, so, in some cases, a different sense of humor could break the relationship.
Fortunately, the more you get to know someone, the easier it is to grasp what they consider funny and to try to relate to them, so if you're worried about differing sense of humor, remember that things like that can be modified.
(Although I don't condone changing yourself for anyone!)

Not to the extreme...
Erm prob you are referring to your bf. I believe you both start with a friendship, followed by close friends, later by relationship.
As a friend, joke does not matter as much as a BF. Cause jokes can bring both more closer, of cause not to the extreme.. like tease his negative side etc.
However, when being a GF/BF, jokes do matter to both. He might feel that you are hinting him something, he might feel that you are not used to who he is, Or he might feel insulted.
The reason is because, relationship bond is much much closer than friendship, so saying out anything do matter to any parties..
So prob saying some jokes, need to think through.

I couldn't date someone who had no sense of humor..I like to make jokes and i consider myself a pretty funny guy, and nothing sucks worse than being with someone who doesn't get your jokes.

No, no longer all of my close pals have a super humorousness. some off them have a very diverse humorousness. i discover it exciting and confident, we are pals. (I take all video clips innovations with their humorousness in techniques -- a number of them i would not pass to the action pictures with on a risk.)

depends on the kind of humor...when its really funny, the kind that makes you laugh out loud...then, that would really be great for a relationship....
but if its the kind of humor that makes him look like a jerk...then, i'd say its bad for the relationship...
