Just rinsing when using some inhalers doesn't always help. You need to brush your teeth AND tongue after using the Advair. And yes---forgetting to rinse that one time could have caused it.

I wasn't told to rinse when I started using one of my inhalers and ended up getting thrush. You need to get a prescription to clear this up. Home remedies won't always do it. I used a liquid that is sometimes called "swish and spit" about 4-5 times a day to cure it.

Don't wait---I would see a doctor as soon as I could, because it won't go away by itself. It will only get worse. When it spreads to your tongue, it can be very painful

And till it's cleared up, don't kiss anyone or they could get it, too.

Hi, I am having the same problem with Advair. Also get thrush in the corners of my mouth. It has helped me alot to gargle with salt and peroxide water. If you can use diluted Listerine to gargle, that will kill it , but it burns. A tiny bit of soap in the corners of your mouth, (lips) kills it also. Hope this helps, good luck.

You may want to change to another steroid inhaler like qvar and use a spacer.
Instead of putting the disc in your mouth you inhale through a tube. You get the mist in your lungs and less deposits in the mouth.
Please see a doctor
